Radiohead and "Blue planet"
« on: April 27, 2007, 03:59:19 PM »
I have to make a post about this, this is sort of like a rifftrax but more like an opiate. I dont know how many of you have heard of "Blue planet" by the discovery channel. It can be found to rent. The second thing is you must be open to Radiohead. Mute the videos and put on perhaps albums like KID A or Amnesiac. Even "Hail to the theif" It flows perfectly, amazing feeling, even my tight ass mother(I love her to death) absolutely went nuts about it. I even had parties where after everyone had consumed as much as they could, would watch it, it just sucks you in. I think it will work for the new series "Planet Earth." Also works with floyd.

seems less like Rifftrax and more like Dark Side of Oz.....  but sounds like it's worth a shot, only Radiohead I have though are OK Computer and The Bends

I've not seen Blue Planet, but if you're a fan of life put to music, I highly recommend Koyaanisqatsi.  Even if you don't buy into the hippie-dippy message of the film, it's a pretty remarkable mix of striking imagery and music.  And you can always replace the Philip Glass score with whatever tickles your fancy.

His other two movies have a similar feel, all three are extremely beautiful.

ok computer will definitely work. I made a mix up last night of dark side of the moon(without time) and KID A. MInd you putting on blue planet was my gf's request. We both fell asleep quickly, which was the desired result.

I'm sure other videos are also good, I might have to try them out; this series, is just remarkable, the camera shots and sequencing are mesmerizing.  I have a lot of trouble sleeping and I really ought send thom yorke a thank you note, just for Ok Computer. Which when growing up was my only sleep aid. I've tried other audio relaxation cd's, which never give me the full effect as this. I think it has more to do with my love of Radiohead and of nature, especially nature shot on ridiculously good cameras

Wish I had a better computer so I could do this reauthoring stuff you guys do, would be great to just throw a DVD in and forget about it.

p.s. yeah it is more like dark side of oz, interesting note, I've yet to find a radiohead song that doesnt go with the films, sometimes it seems like I did synch it somehow, kind of freaky.
