Best blu ray disc for HD VODs?
« on: July 24, 2016, 11:41:00 AM »
Hey guys :-)  Just wondering if anyone here might know the best Blu Ray media to record a Rifftrax Live HD title to.  I bought Rifftrax Live! Miami Connection and downloaded the 11.5 GB highest quality file.  Now wanting to make sure I put it on the right disc.  I'm new to recordable Blu-Ray, if it isn't already obvious, lol.

Check your player but a standard 25GB BD-R should be readable by pretty much all players.

The tricky part is if your player will read an mp4 if you simply put the file on a disk that is formatted as a data disk, if you have to re-encode the file to blu-ray format that can take a while (hours) on your PC.

Players often have strange rules on what files can be read from what media, so check the manual, if a data disc doesn't work it may be readable off a USB thumb drive or SD card.

Thanks much :-D  I'm looking into possibly getting some software for making mp4s into video disc format (I'm pretty sure they have that).  Other than that: BD-R it is :-)
