That's awesome. I'm definitely gonna be sharing that over the next few weeks. My personal favorite mic drop for RT being a very flawed system is this:

Yeah, critical reactions should by no means be a metric for deciding how good or bad a movie is. The ONLY exception to that rule is if a movie has a REALLY low score, like somewhere between 0 and 10%. If that's the case, it probably is a bad movie, but to be fair, that might also make it one of the "so bad it's good" variety.

Star Wars has never really been one to play to the critics. If you start to apply any standard scoring system, Star Wars just isn't that good. But they're FUN. ALWAYS fun. Even Episode 1 was fun. I'm a simple man with simple needs. If I get to see lightsabers clash and spaceships explode- possibly one GIANT Space thingy exploding- then it's good Star Wars.

I need something a little deeper. An emotional connection to the characters is always nice... and that's what I've always had with Rey... and now...

It always helps a movie if I can feel what a character in a movie is going through.

I get why the critics are down on it, but it is certainly better than 58%.  The issues with it aren't with the movie itself, but with it's role in the franchise as a whole. Star Wars has always been this weird entity that makes it hard to review. Do you review the movie itself? Do you review it's role in the series? Do you review what this indicates for the future?  Based on those categories, I would give it 90%, 70%, and 50%, in that order.

I'll believe it when they start filming. We were supposed to get a Boba Fett movie and a Obi Wan movie too.  The Game of Thrones twins ditched their movie. As of right now, there are only promises of future movies.

Yes, we are.  But they aren't willing to commit a movie to it.  I think they'll reserve the risk taking for the TV shows.

Went to see it again tonight, enjoyed it more the second time, also got more emotional the second time.  Funny how sometimes when you know something is coming you feel it more.  Also noticed a lot more callbacks since I could pay more attention to the background stuff.

I want to do that too!  But I'm restricting my diet so I have to avoid my ultimate trigger movie popcorn.

Did you get any more insight on the Emperor's plan with a second viewing?

Amazon has it back in stock?  I tried to order it from Amazon before release day but it wasn't available, so ordered it from Target and got it Wednesday.  Still haven't looked at the Target exclusive disc, can't be HD since it's a DVD....  It did come in a nice box with a nice book.
