Buckaroo Banzai

Well, apparently Kevin Smith is shopping around a Buckaroo Banzai  TV show around Hollywood right now.

BB: Across the 8th Dimension wasn't the best film, but it was memorable, and it's got the potential to be an interesting TV show. If it gets made.

I just hope it's about Buckaroo Banzai vs. the World Crime League. It's Kevin Smith, I am sure at the very least he wants to do this project justice.

On his podcasts he's mentioned that the first season is meant to retell the story of the original film in an expanded way, and the second would be "vs the World Crime League."

I remember not liking the movie at all. I should probably give it another chance. Maybe I just wasn't in the right mood at the time.

I remember that movie being very dependant on the environment you watch it in. I watched it for the first time in the middle of the night on my own while suffering from insomnia and I enjoyed the hell out of it. A couple months later I showed it to a friend of mine and he obviously didn't appreciate it, so I couldn't remember what I even liked about it.

I think it's a movie that you have to watch more than a few times to "get it".

I always found the mythology of the movie much more interesting than the movie itself.

This is a pretty good way of summarizing my general reaction. I do rather like many of the lines in the movie though.

I love the whole bit where they say "Try an E-cypher", as opposed to a D-cypher. :P Am I remembering that right?
