Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to get through this thing called life. Electric word life, that means forever.

Wow, this one hurts a lot

It's terribly disheartening that this board has become less about music in general and songs and more a constant update of all the musicians we've lost this year.  It's a sad year for tunes.

I just watched the 1989 Batman.  I sort of feel like watching it again.
One Man Band Riffs.  18 riffs, over 600 served, since 2009.

Whoa.

I'm not what you'd call a Prince fan. His aesthetic bugged me, but a lot of my favorite songs happen to be performed by him, and a lot more of my favorite songs were written by him. The dude pretty much wrote the '80s.

So THAT'S what it takes to get MTV to play music videos.

Here's a radio station streaming some prince: http://www.thecurrent.org/listen

From the Time of the Apes MST3K episode (paraphased a bit from memory)

"It's Prince, his royal purpleness!"

"If you disobey my orders, I will have you all shot!"

"Wow, it is Prince!"

Well, I'm going to go watch Agent From H.A.R.M., which has his royal badness in it. But if you live near an Alamo, you might want to check their upcoming programming. I know the Denver location just decided to show "Purple Rain" tomorrow, and other locations may be doing the same.

Meanwhile, somewhere Keith Richards experiences the quickening.

You know, if the space man puma thing turns out to be the correct religion, I for one will be very surprised.

AMC Theaters and Carmike Cinemas are showing Purple Rain on the big screen starting tomorrow, April 23, through Thursday, April 28.

Although this may sound to some to be a cash grab to such a degree, that they would lift their heads to the heavens to shout '"TOO SOON!!!", the real question is "Why did it take Prince's death to bring Purple Rain back to theaters?"  Well, it is an awesome movie and deserves to be seen with a crowd of fellow Prince fans, I just wish the reason for the opportunity for seeing Purple Rain in theaters wasn't so sorrowful.

For a list of theaters showing Purple Rain, click the link below.  However, if your local AMC or Carnike theater isn't listed, check their websites.  I live is Saint Louis and I had to go to the AMC website to find out that the film was even showing near me.

Edit: Here is another list that contains AMC theater locations not in the Variety article:
