YES!!

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0435931/

Rikidozan is a biopic about the man who is known as the father of puroresu (Japanese pro wrestling). Rikidozan's story is quite intriguing. A former sumo wrestler, he was introduced into pro wrestling by Japanese-American wreslter Harold Sakata (Oddjob from Goldfinger;he's played in the movie by the legendary Keiji Mutoh). He became a hero in post WWII Japan by standing up to American villains in the ring. Rikidozan became a star in the United States after being "put-over" by the legendary Lou Thesz for NWA World Heavyweight Championship. As he became rich and famous he bought up night clubs, hotels, and boxing promotions. Business-wise, he got between 2 rival yakuza families which to his stabbing death in a night club bathroom. The majority of the people did not learn until his death that he actually born Kim Shin-rak in North Korea. He came to Japan in his youth, adopted a Japanese name and trained to become a sumo wrestler. Ironically, the man that quit sumo due to discrimination for being ethnically Korean became Japan's greatest hero.

The movie is very well filmed and well acted (although a little bit embellished). They really present him as a victim character and they may have messed with the facts a little to show this. In the movie, the promoters want Japanese born judo champion "Imura" (who should actually be Masahiko Kimura) to be the flag bearer of the promotion, but one promoter sticks by Rikidozan because the crowd likes him more. In real, life Rikidozan himself invited Kimura to be his first long running fued but then scrapped the idea after a few shows because he was afraid the crowd would take to Kimura better. Also, the movie doesn't show him involved with the yakuza at all and the stabbing is shown more as a hate crime.

but other than that I definately reccomend anyone to see it. I bought it online for like 8 dollars. If you're a wrestling fan at all or fan of Japanese culture or biopics in general, pick it up. and there's a little love story in there too if you like that
