The Future of the Cinematic Titanic Episodes?
« on: November 14, 2015, 07:40:24 AM »
Cinema Titan LLC is apparently going to shut down entirely. What's going to happen to those 12 recordings they made? Do you think Shout might be buying them along with MST3K since they're both Joel projects? It would be nice if those last three Cinematic Titanic movies they riffed live were remade as MST3K episodes since it's unlikely CT will ever get back together to record them.

All of the episodes on Hulu are still there with no expiration date:

According the MST3K post show chat there's a Cin Tit box set coming out. Joel said Rhino, but I wonder if he meant SHOUT!?

That would be awesome if they're available but since I own all the rest, I don't need the box set..
Maybe they will be sold individually :-\

And theirs also this 10 minute DVD called The Frank for $14.50..
https://www.amazon.com/Frank-Trace-Beaulieu/dp/B00MJ9GF4U/ref=pd_sim_74_28?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00MJ9GF4U&pd_rd_r=32XRJN4YWNR9AP0HA5SP&pd_rd_w=kdxxA&pd_rd_wg=VMYHb&psc=1&refRID=32XRJN4YWNR9AP0HA5SP
Yeah, I got that a year or two ago. Not really impressed.
Ok I was wondering about that..
Paying $14.50 for something that's only 10 minutes long didn't seem worth it to me anyway :-\

He didn't say what was in the set or anything, may just be the unreleased ones

Lets see.. Are these the only unreleased ones?

Samson and the Seven Miracles of the World
The Astral Factor
The Doll Squad

If those are finally released, I'm in! :o

Josh Weinstein has said the three unreleased films were never recorded, so they would have to get the band back together to do a new recording.

There is a bootleg of Astral Factor floating around (someone recorded the audio to a live show and merged it with the film. It's a fun bootleg experience.

On The Mads' website, they said Shout will be doing the rerelease, so I suspect Joel just got Rhino and Shout confused for a second.

Saw Samson and the Seven Miracles and the Doll Squad both live, but would really like to own DVDs of them and one of the pre-riff shows which featured part of Joel's Riffing Myself show. Would buy the box if it contained at least those, but would likely pass if the box has nothing new.

That bootleg of Astral Factor is (or at least was as of yesterday) on YouTube. I downloaded it for future viewing. Glad to have it, but after a quick scan of it it might be tough to watch on a TV both due to video quality and the quality of the audience recorded audio. Might be more watchable on a tablet with earphones.
