In 1969, they did a parade in Alabama... and decided to thinly rip off Peanuts.



But, as the title cards at the base of the balloons said, that's not Snoopy... that's "Snooper!" And that's not Charlie Brown. It's "Charlie Braun", and his friend "Licy", who's brother is "Linnus"! Oh, so clever!

King Features Syndicate wasn't amused.

Oh, and they next tried it with The Muppets. The lawsuit from Henson & Co. was swift and brutal.
