Hmm. I've read a bunch of the texts, but I take the time period and location into account when I read them.
I have a temple about 50 minutes from my home, but no one talks in English, so I frankly have trouble getting very much out of my rare visits.

Yes but traditionalist doesn't mean you are living your faith like it's 3000 BCE.

See I got what I did because I answered in a similar way to how I'd answer questions about Catholic doctrines (i.e. they're of their time and secularism should supersede them where applicable) which is pretty in keeping with Nehru really.

I bet that if every member of a given church were to take the general religion quiz, each and every one would have a different line up. That's part of what I love about religion.

Yes most likely though the devout members would probably have closer cohesion and similarity of result, because otherwise they'd not be so inclind to go to said church.

With some, I imagine that's true, but probably not as many as you'd think.

No that's why I said "Devout"

Take a population of Catholics, the Devout will probably answer the questions similarly because humans as a whole, when they latch on to something, tend to switch off the critical thinking. This is actually a very important intellectual function as it allows for groups to act in unison.

Is that like a pre-pubesent violinist?

Anyway, I don't know, people can think they think the same, but I would assume only the people who take scripture perfectly literally will have the same results. Unless that is how you define devout.

Actually devout means devoted to the tennets of a given faith, that might be defined as scripturally based or it might not, but in order to be devout one has to subscribe to said tennets, if they do not they they are not devout members of that particular faith.

Oh, I see. Devout always had a somewhat positive connotation in my house. It depresses me to know what kind of people can literally be called "devout."

I'm using it in a purely neutral sense. One could be a devout Thugee while another a devout Quaker.  The form of the two individuals devotion would be vastly different but their devoution for still be the same using "devout" in a neutral objective sense.

Well quite, and I'm enjoying being Mayor at the moment, though the interns aren't all that cute :D
