I'm looking forward to the Dalai Dan, he's a bit off schedule.

Sometimes I participte in conversations I don't understand at all.

(I was trying to see if Black Dhali Lama looked at all like Black Dalhia.)

Yes I knew you were going for that pun but it also describes the Dalai Dan (in the sense of "Black" being a synonym for "Dark" or evil counterpart)

The Dalai Dan has a Yin Yang Symbol with three "tapoles" on his forehead, have a guess what those  resolve into.

Regarding Yin Yang- Does it seem at all odd that the darker, more agressive side also corresponds to the female side? I call projection on the part of the ancient Chinese.

Or possibly the general milquetoast nature of ancient chinese men.

Yeah, that's one of the many reasons I'm not as enamored by ancient Chinese culture as most everybody else. ("We want to build a canal so we can build my new palace out in the desert. Get me a few million peasants to build it, and get me 100,000 peasants to use as a sidewalk.")

Also, I'm going to go on the denial thread to claim I didn't need to look up "milquetoast."

Damn is my vocab really quite so shibboleth heavy? I feel like Dennis Miller, except, you know, I actually understand what the words I use mean.

In high school, I found that I could use big words however I liked without being called on it. The advantage of a public school education.
(No, really, using big words in social settings can make you really popular! Really!)

High School? Yes. When has it ever been otherwise?

Mine was alright, mind you I didn't go to school in the US.

I find so many Americans have almost Vietnam type mental scars from HS. Weird.

I never actually thought of it that way, but yes. Post Traumatic Stress. My HS experience wasn't actually that bad, but it's still a bunch of humans, reduced to their base, animal instincts by hormonal changes and crowding, trying to learn, live and love.

I've promised myself not to become one of those "Oh, for my high school days" idiots when I get older. We'll see if I keep to it.

Yeah that's the other, significantly less widespread trope "High School was the happiest time of my life" so happy they never bothered making plans for the rest of it apparently.
