I've said it before and I'll say it again, Dragon Wars is a guilty pleasure of mine. It has all the same problems as the Bayformers movies: terrible human characters, bad acting, bad direction, incomprehensable script, everything. But the one thing it does have is that the dragons are recognizable and you can understand what they are doing! When the dragons are onscreen, which is often, it's dumb action but you can tell what you are seeing. Not so with the incompresensable metal shard sculptures in the Bayformers movies.
So yes, I am interested in this. If anything causes me pause it's that the same director is attached.

I watched the original for the first time yesterday, and didn't mind it. Nothing special, but an enjoyable popcorn film. Having a "prequel" set during the Cold War could be interesting, depending on dragons fit into that. Perhaps Space Dragons on the Moon?
