His constant farting and belching noises when they'd show that fat, turkey-necked guy, not once but a few times is only one example.

That depends on the individual's sense of humor. Personally, I can listen to fart and belch sounds all day long, when superimposed over a fat, turkey-necked guy. Case in point: the first time I saw that scene in Overdrawn At The Memory Bank, I almost cracked several ribs from laughing so hard!

But yeah, Kevin has kinda gone overboard with the anger in a few Rifftrax.

Yet, that doesn't mean I want him to change.  ;)
Understand...and he's not without some real winners.

I consider myself to be a reasonably intelligent guy, but for some reason the fart and belch jokes crack me up. There's a local talk radio guy here in Dallas that always plays fart noises whenever covering a news story about Vladimir Putin and for some reason it always gets me. OatMB had me tearing up when I first saw that pool scene with the fat man. Even as I write this, it makes me chuckle. That and the "my nuts" jokes.

Sure, Kevin goes a little overboard sometimes, but for me that's what makes it funny. If he just did a couple fart noises or simply sighed when he was annoyed, it wouldn't have near the effect of his over the top wheezing and farting and flying off the handle.

I watched it again and it was a much better experience overall. Still that one scene (with Murphy going nuts with the fart and belch jokes) really takes to my breaking point. What I find very interesting is if you listen very closely, he's really cracking himself up in the process.

I thin one scene would have been funny, more than one goes overboard for me. One gets the idea across, but, jeez, Kevin, the guy's nasty enough to look at, I don't need images of his bodily functions too.

On the other hand it DOES cover up much of the dialogue.

I'm afraid of Battlefield Earth even to the point of avoiding RiffTrax.  But I recently ponied the few bucks for it (the RiffTrax, that is, not the movie), and added B.E. to my NetFlix list.  So the damned thing will probably arrive in a couple of days.  My policy has been to watch the movie before I watch it with the RiffTrax.  I may break my policy this time around.  But maybe not since I see others have survived Battlefield Earth with their sanity in tact (or is that an assumption?)  You guys have given me hope that I might survive it, too. Wish me luck!

Hang tough, MyStars!.  You're in for a great Rifftrax.  And as well-deserved as the movie's reputation is, it is surprisingly survivable without the Rifftrax, being thoroughly goofy throughout.  That said, there's no necessity to watch the movie unriffed first.  You won't be missing any crucial plot points, mainly because there are none (that make sense).  Enjoy!

Thank you - you helped to fortify me.  I'm proud to say that I survived Battlefield Earth unriffed!  The movie gave me a head-ache, no joke, but I felt no need to find the closest Scientology "church" and get audited (the true source of my fear.)  The riff itself is terrific, though I agree with others about too much fart and burbing whenever Fat Chin showed up (and why did that guy have such bulging chin fat when the rest of him wasn't far?  Sorry, sorry, questions like this is why I had such a head-ache - that and the constant dutch-angles.)  Still, I never had such fun sharing pain with others.  ;D
