The Nation is Saved: The Colbert Finale
« on: December 19, 2014, 07:08:21 PM »
Who else saw the Colbert Finale.  In a way, it was surprisingly modest, in that it started with your average comedy story (great one about a plumbing truck that ended up in a Syrian conflict) and then had a great, dark mission statement in the Word.  Then a Prescott bit, then the big musical number, then Colbert the character becoming a legend.  Obviously, that doesn't sound modest, but for Colbert, it kind of is.  We'll Meet Again didn't get me to tear up, but it did show the enormity of what the show had become and the end, while not a perfect bit (it feels similar to stuff we've seen before) has some great lines (from Alex Trebeck).  But it was a fitting end to the show.  What did everyone else think?

I'll have to watch it on his website, as I don't use a television.  I didn't watch him often, but he was  damn'd funny.  He did this thing where he walked around some Russian athletic center in the Vancouver Olympics and shouted "Tear down this wall!"  One of the funniest thing I have ever seen
I hope he does well in Letterman's old spot!
