I learned that my vandalism of certain high schools and cryptic threats directed at principals thereof was morally justified all along.

I learned what happens when you just don't even try to edit film.

I learned that Poseidon is a friggin creep. Fellow neopagans, take note.

I learned that inept film makers just can't get enough of clumsy framing devices. There's this, the Ice Cream Bunny, Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonders, various shorts...what is it with sub-mediocre film-making hacks and the framing devices?

I learned that this movie left me wanting more. o_o I stared into the abyss, and the abyss decided to just keep walking and pretend it hadn't seen anything.

I learnt that the lobster-creature has olive-drab leggings in the film proper, but bright yellow leggings during the epilogue/guessing game, and therefore they not only did multiple takes per scene, but multiple shoot dates per scene.

And therefore... this film could have been even worse.

This helps explain some of the weirdness of this film. The theme of the parade is Fairy Tales, and this is one of them. I want to see the float of the Bong Tree. I guess the narrator stole it.

The Owl and the Pussy-Cat
BY EDWARD LEAR
I
The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea
   In a beautiful pea-green boat,
They took some honey, and plenty of money,
Wrapped up in a five-pound note.
The Owl looked up to the stars above,
And sang to a small guitar,
"O lovely Pussy! O Pussy, my love,
What a beautiful Pussy you are,
         You are,
         You are!
What a beautiful Pussy you are!"

II
Pussy said to the Owl, "You elegant fowl!
   How charmingly sweet you sing!
O let us be married! too long we have tarried:
But what shall we do for a ring?"
They sailed away, for a year and a day,
To the land where the Bong-Tree grows
And there in a wood a Piggy-wig stood
With a ring at the end of his nose,
             His nose,
             His nose,
With a ring at the end of his nose.

III
"Dear Pig, are you willing to sell for one shilling
Your ring?" Said the Piggy, "I will."
So they took it away, and were married next day
By the Turkey who lives on the hill.
They dined on mince, and slices of quince,
   Which they ate with a runcible spoon;
And hand in hand, on the edge of the sand,
They danced by the light of the moon,
             The moon,
             The moon,
They danced by the light of the moon.

Also, she freely bandies that 'gay' word about because 'gay' wasn't a widely used term for homosexual until the Stonewall riot which was, i believe, in 1969. This 'film' was made in 1965.

Darn, no likes in this thread...

Great find on the fairy tale, although it's more fun to think the narrator lady was simply hallucinating when talking about the marrying turkey...

Yes, the word gay used to be interchangeable with the word happy.

Oh, and a runcible spoon is basically a spork!

Yes, the word gay used to be interchangeable with the word happy.

I knew that that was the original meaning of the word. But I didn't realize the change to using it to mean homosexuals was so recent.
