That's Awesome Games Done Quick. Jan 5-11. Started at 12:00 noon eastern time today. It's a seven day speed running marathon. Always entertaining. And they're raising money for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.

They're about an hour into the first game, Jak & Daxter, and they're already at over 40K viewers.

I just saw the most insane thing I have ever seen. A TAS bot was setup with to play SMW with two multitaps, effectively 8 controllers. This enabled them to create a TAS run where the player can overwrite the program code, though a massive series of unaccounted for controller commands, to make it possible to reprogram the game, on the fly, into crude versions of Pong and Snake, then jump straight to the end credits. And since it was being played by a physical robot, this shows that this is in fact physically possible.

Mind blown.

Once the marathon is over, they'll start posting these on Youtube. Highly recommended, as has been everything thus far.

Sadly I now have to go to bed, so I'll be missing some of the games I really wanted to see.

The whole schedule can be found at http://gamesdonequick.com/schedule
