I claim full responsibility, even though I had nothing to do with it.

If I remember correctly, Imrahil started the original thread and he deletes a lot of his post these days so that's my guess.. :-\

That explains why 280 of my old posts disappeared.

I can't figure why anyone would delete a thread with that much history.  There was stuff in there from people you never see here anymore.  I'm starting yo think thread deleting should be a mod-only function.

I agree if the thread gets that big, that thread had some history.

I thought it was. ???  I seem to recall having to ask a moderator to delete a thread I'd started some time back (when there were only three subsequent posts in it... all pointing me to an equivalent thread already created), because the forum itself wouldn't allow me to delete my first - 'initiating' - post in the thread since there had been responses.

EDIT:
How does one contact a moderator (preferably one working with the website proper), to see if the thread can be retrieved from the last website backup?  [Before the next website backup happens.]

I think it was the last server migration when the ability to delete stuff became the option of the thread starter.

Imrahil started the thread.  I think he has some sort of script or program running that auto-deletes his posts after combination of time elapsed and inactivity or something.  That's why his post count is so low, and why the thread disappeared.

My OCD is pleased that the new "WWWWWOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!" more or less matches the length of the "RRRRRAAAAARRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!".
