Phantom Menace: No "Alien Language" subtitles
« on: November 01, 2013, 11:22:27 AM »
When I tried to watch Star Wars- Episode I: The Phantom Menace on the Rifftrax Player, the subtitles that are supposed to show what Watto and Anakin are saying when they speak Huttese did not appear. The subtitles do show up when I play the movie on a regular player without Rifftrax. Is there a codec or something I could download to fix this problem, or do I just wait for the next update?

If it helps-

Operating system: Windows 8

DVD Drive: Cyberlink Power DVD 10

Its been awhile since I used the rifftrax player.  Is there an option to turn on subtitles at all?  The Star Wars discs just make the alien language subtitles one of the subtitle options that most dvd players will recognize as the default.

Hello,

I don't have Episode 1 near me to test, but to get the alien-only subtitles in the star wars films, you want to make sure subtitles are visible (hit v, or select it from the Subtitles menu) and make sure you are set to the right subtitle track (it is the second English track for Return of the Jedi), which can be selected from the Subtitles menu or bar menu.

Moo,
