Comedy Central's @midnight

I'm really digging this game show. It's great to see every comedian from the LA podcasting circuit have a chance to shine on television. The quick-joke-response format makes it kind of like a "Whose Line" for the digital age, albeit one where the points slightly matter.

And I've been having way, way, WAY too much fun with the Hashtag Wars.

Finally catching up on episodes on Hulu after hearing about it on Nerdist and Doug Loves Movies.  It's been awesome so far.

I'm loving it. (my 150-minutes of late night comedy is now complete w/ it sandwiched between Colbert/Ferguson)

It's a joy to see so many of the people that make my earballs cackle getting a platform to crack wise in a game-show format. I'm getting my popcorn ready for when 'zouks is on the show, and it's only a matter of time.

And the next time Jonah Ray's on, it would be gold if Hardwick could corral Jeselnik to be on the panel. Oh the possibilities...

Grace Helbig was on last night! Yeah!!

I love this show so much.  And Doggans even got a reply from @midnight on one of his Hashtag Wars tweets!  :highfive:

My favorite episodes so far have been Mirman/Schaal/Benson and Vaughn/Klausner/Tompkins, but all of them have been hilarious.

I'm just sad Hodgman was eliminated last night, because I would LOVE to see what he would have written for that Vengeance Demon ad.

The good: a 40-week second season pickup! http://www.deadline.com/2013/11/comedy-centrals-midnight-gets-40-week-pickup/

The bad: apparently tonight was the first season finale? Man, just when we were getting started!

Yeah, this was definately seen as a trial period, playing it safe in case the show bombed.  Luckily for everyone it didn't.  I had no idea the ratings were as high as they were, that's awesome.

No, but I'd bet Hardwick is pushing for him to make an appearance.

Yeah, I only saw the one episode, but Hamburger is sort of perfect for this kind of show.  Gregg Turkington is a good improviser with the character and I bet he could do some great stuff with the format.

The more I hear about him the more I wish I could have gone to that big music/comedy festival Tenacious D put together.  If you hadn't heard of it they had four stages.  One huge stage for the large scale music acts, a medium stage for sketch comedy groups and improv, a smaller stage for stand ups, and finally a tiny tent with one seat where one person at a time would enter, sit down, and watch Neil Hamburger live for 30 seconds.

Points!!!

So stoked it's back tonight.

My favorite episodes so far have been Mirman/Schaal/Benson and Vaughn/Klausner/Tompkins, but all of them have been hilarious.

The former had my favorite moment to date when Mirman pantomimed under the eliminating red light. It had me in stitches. Schaal, who I normally find grating, was really fantastic in it, too.
