Little known fact: I was serving aboard the older USS George Bancroft SSBN 643 and we had launched a Polaris V missile about a week or so before the Tennessee launched theirs off of Port Canaveral, FL. Our launch got no publicity but was a complete success and our missile named Janus missed it's target in the South Pacific by only 2 feet
