Well when I get my PS3, probably a year away yet, I'll pick up a Tony Hawk, Madden, NBA2k, GTA4, Gran Turismo, Tiger Woods, and fighting game... looking forward to all these games but as Leo pointed out the price is a bit high right now. (Also, M$ fans love to brag about how these games are available for their system too, but I choose Sony because of the controller, it just works better for me)

If any of you are serious gamers like me you will always take gameplay over graphics. And... let's face it the PS3 doesn't look THAT good.

seriously i find your absurd fanboyism annoying and arrogant for that matter.

Im glad to hear everyone saying that Virtua fighter 5 is getting good press,  I was a huge fan for it on ps2, so an online version will be great.

The PS3 looks to be a great piece of kit.  It's just that it's terribly expensive.  Like all of the new console releases, there doesn't seem to be a huge amount of great titles for it, but there looks to be some interesting releases coming soon.

I think that new Metal Gear Solid looks pretty sweet. I myself wouldnt fork over the 600 bucks for a PS3 but hey to each his own.  Please dont make this a ranting about which system is better and whatnot.  I myself have a 360 and i love it to bits, and i know others who feel the same for a PS3 and a Wii.  If you could only call someone a "serious gamer" only because they have a 360 i think is a little, oh i dont know, stupid i guess.  I agree with Mr. Torso when he says that you have to buy each console to have all of the best games.  I mean you didnt even respond when they said that at the beginning there werent really that many games to choose from for the 360 and the same is going to be said for the PS3. But they are started to launch some new interesting titles, and one huge seller for the 360 which was Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion. I'm sure that is going to be a good starting point for the PS3.  I mean no one can say who is going to win this generation's war.  I just dont see the point of spending wasted energy on someone who already has their mind set on which system they want to buy and are just asking reccomendations of good games, they arent asking why the system they are spending 600 shells on is so crappy.

My honest reply is buy a PS2 now and wait until something really cool for the PS3 comes out to buy it. (FF XIII or DMC4, maybe.) The PS2 is the same cost as two PS3 games, so if you spend more time with it than you would with those two games, you'll come out ahead.

If you choose not to follow my advice, go and find a list of upcoming games for the PS3 and start reading it. For all the titles that you're interested in,  ask yourself, "Is this a game I can play on some other system that I own?" and "If so, is playing it on the 3 worth the extra $10-$20 that I'll be paying for it?" If there's a bunch of titles coming out that you can only play on the PS3 (and the only real exclusive that I saw was MGS4, and that's not out until September at the earliest), then buy it. Otherwise, wait until there's stuff on the PS3 that you're wanting to play.

Plus, the longer you wait to buy the PS3, the more refined the technology becomes, and the fewer possible problems that you'll have with it. And  the longer you wait, the more of a chance that Sony will discount the price. Or bundle in a better title that Tallegeda Nights for a movie. (Although I think it's Casino Royale right now. If you wait until fall, it'll probably be Spiderman 3.)

Why when anyone remotely says the word 360 or ps3 in a sentence everyone starts fighting over which is better and what not?
Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music.

By the time PS3 gets a library worth having, it'll be several hundred dollars less. I'll get one someday. Until then, I play the waiting game... With motion sensor controllers on my Wii. :^)

If you value your social life and/or free time, you will NOT get Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

However, if you are a fan if great video games and RPGs, then you MUST absolutely play this game!  :)
