Supernatural (The TV Series)
« on: March 17, 2007, 09:52:59 AM »
Is anyone else here a fan of Supernatural on the CW?  It has gradually become one of my favorite shows, very much in the spirit of the
standalone "Monster of the Week" episodes of The X-Files (which IMO were superior to the Alien conspiracy/mythology episodes).

I think it's a decent series, though it doesn't have the "must-watch" quality of some of the other new shows around.  I was quite impressed by how far the creators went to make it scary in the first series - the asylum episode was especially creepy - but I think they've become a little bogged down in plot when they try to tell a bigger story.

Just started watching this season, but I picked up the first season on DVD and am starting to watch that as well.  I really enjoy it.  It's kind of taken the place of Alias as my go-to "turn off your brain and be entertained" show.  It's kind of like Buffy the Vampire Slayer used to be before Buffy took itself too seriously.

I'm watching the Season 1 DVDs (thanks, Netflix!), and so far I'm enjoying the series.  The storylines are interesting, and I like the touches of humor in the writing.  So far my favorite is the one with the creepy scarecrow.

I enjoy it a lot, though I find it's quickly becoming my "rainy day" show; I enjoy it a lot more when I'm able to watch episodes back to back.

I pretty much love the show beyond reason.  It's a great show and not at all what people seem to think it would be given the network it airs on.  It's not cheap, lazy, stale.  It's clever, scary, and mostly just fun to watch.

The second season episode Nightshifter is a terrific one if you're not going to start with the pilot.  Last season's finale was just unbelievably well done and I'm looking forward with glee to this season's.

It's pretty predictable and I'm curious to see exactly how long they can sustain it but it's certainly something different in the current TV climate and I'm happy to support the horror genre.  I won't rush home to watch it but if I happen to catch it it keeps me entertained.

I watched since it started, because my wife wanted me too.  And now it is one of my favorites.

I've liked the episodes I've watched (one in particular), I really should get some season box sets or something.

I'm hopelessly addiicted and thought that last weeks ep was very sad... I mean they found out about Adam only to find out he had been dead the whole time... very sad.

I'm also eagerly waiting on the SPN RPG... they have been promising it since Oct 08... but have kept pushing the date back further and further.

As a Supernatural fan, this sounds interesting. Even if the Winchester boys will be drawn rather bishy and will get shipped even more than they do now.

Love it! I hope to see some of that.

As for the series, many of my friends and I are actually kind of upset that they are even going to have a sixth season, after such an incredible finale that season five(5) had.  I don't know how they can RE-end the series any better than they did already....

...but on the other hand, I am looking forward to it becoming more "episode"-based, like it was in the early seasons.  I miss that.

I do like Madhouse, generally.

Anyway, I've been meaning to get into this show simply because Ben Edlund is such a big part of it these days.  But there are so many things I'm trying to get into it will be a while.  Maybe once I finish FlashForward.
