R.I.P. Helen Thomas

The Queen of the White House Press Corps died recently.  Despite her views on Palestine that got her in hot water and forced her into retirement, she was an amazing journalist and asked the hard questions for most of her career.

I'll confess that I'm not a news junkie, but I came to know her through her appearences on the Daily Show and the Colbert Report.  Even in her old age she proved herself smart and tough.  Though there are probably some better clips to choose to show what she accomplished as a journalist, I love this.

The first thing I thought of was that Daily Show/Colbert Report bit.  I guess at 92 it's pretty much not a surprise but she'll be missed.
