This was a lot of fun, I hope they do the rest of them.

I did notice a lack of commenting on the silly "bat ears" looking more like devil horns or antennas.

Love love loved it.  Loved the whole thing.  I was actually considering watching the rest of them unriffed but I don't want to spoil the surprise.  Do the rest!

Add me to the list of those wanting to see this entire serial done. Hope it sells well enough to make that happen.

The 1942 (or 43) serial with all of it's war flavored racism looks like it would make a good follow up too (although maybe it would count as a prequel).

Judging from the sample (since I'm still so broke the chances of me getting this in the near future are slim to none), it looks hilarious!  Thrill as Batman and Robin obey the speed limit as they don't rush to a crime scene!  Would having finding a cooler car really have been that much more expensive?

If I'm not too much mistaken even in the comics of the time the "Batmobile" wasn't much more than a basic car with maybe some fancy attachments and stuff on it but the "Batmobile" being some sort of suped-up car didn't come about for much later (and may have be introduced by the 1960s TV series.)

I took the lack of comments on the costumes, the fact that Batman looks more like Chihuahua Man and on the fact that Robin looks 40 as evidence they are saving that stuff for a quiet patch in a future episode...

I'd hesitate before requesting the entire series.  Back in the MST3K days, they said the old serials got harder and harder to write for because they were so repetitive.  Each episode tends to follow the exact same beats with only minor changes in scenery.  Granted, I can't say this was exactly the case with Batman, but it was typical of most adventure serials.

I was thinking along the same lines, but then I thought to myself, you know, with 20+ years of riffing experience since Commander Cody, I'm betting they can pull it off and make it good.  If they were to riff that now, I can't seem them falling back on "nipple tweak" 2 or 3 times an episode, for example.

Josh was maybe a bit out of his depth during Commando Cody, but Trace was actually pretty sublime in the way he embraced the repetition ("a NEW character!"), and Joel and Trace had a ball with the whole thing of the lab where people get beaten up and kidnapped every week.

That said, if Commando Cody is anything to go by, you could probably skip whole episodes of Batman and Robin without affecting the coherence of the overall plot.

Honestly, I watch these shorts and likely enjoy them a whole lot more than Batman Forever or Batman and Robin.

Batman Takes Over...the number one spot on the bestsellers list.  I hope that bodes well for us getting more from this serial.

The question is how do I watch this. Stand alone? As a warm up for an older rifftrax I haven't seen yet (was thinking of watching 300 this weekend). Or as a short with other shorts?

I wish I had such problems.....
