MY RIFFPLAYER DOESN'T WORK
« on: July 04, 2013, 05:46:12 PM »
Hi, i need help, my riffplayer doesn't work. I put the dvd in, say, halloween. I open up riffplayer, open the rifftrax, (the zip file AND the mps, i've done both they don't work) and the problem is that the process of scanning the disc and booting it up, just... doesn't happen. The play and stop buttons unlock but there is no sound or video, it's just black. Please help me. I've got windows 7, and i have the zip file and access to the mp3 alone.

There's actually a help/assistance board for this.  Does someone want to move this?

Ok now that the other posts have been taken care of.

1. Emailing support@rifftrax.com will yield faster results (usually)..

2. Not all titles are Riffplayer compatible. Ones that are require a special file called a .sync file.  The catalog pages for each title will show if it is Riffplayer Compatible.

Using your example there is not a sync file for Halloween available.  There are ways to make your own but it requires some trial and error. Peruse this board:

http://forum.rifftrax.com/index.php?board=306.0

and see if anyone has made one for Halloween.

The posters here are correct, you lack the sync file. To do this, you'd need to make a text file named: Halloween_Riff.sync

In the file, you'd put:

riffdelay_init=121.000
riffstart=17.00
time_offset=1.000900

These settings don't seem to work for everyone, which is likely why that are not distributed with the file. But you can try.

You need to have this file in the same directory as the mp3.

Cheers,
