By STEVE KARNOWSKI, Associated Press

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) Best-selling author Vince Flynn, who wrote the Mitch Rapp counterterrorism thriller series and sold more than 15 million books in the U.S. alone, died Wednesday in Minnesota after a more than two-year battle with prostate cancer, according to friends and his publisher. He was 47.

I'll also note this:

47 is far too young.

This stinks.  His Mitch Rapp books are just a straight out balls out action macho guy brilliance.  With crisp plotting and writing, without being as long winded and techno-jargony as Clancy or Ludlum.

I hope to see Mitch Rapp on the big screen someday, if they do it right a new franchise could be born.

RIP  :(
