Does anybody else remember this show from the eighties? I don't remember if it was any good but what I do remember that what really pissed me off is that the theme song was NOT "Sledgehammer" By Peter Gabirel!!! I mean WTF HUH?????

A friend of mine is a big fan and leant me the two series box sets.  I think the quality of the series is quite variable - like a lot of "spoof" entertainment - but it was carried nicely by the cast.

I just remember that instead of a silencer, Sledge had a "loudener."

I remember this show as being the one that introduced me to the phrase "scum sucker".
Aaahh! This movie just throws you violently into the next scene!

I was just watching this last night.

For an 80s sitcom, it's pretty good.  Today? It's not as "edgy" as it seemed back then, but the removal of the laugh track goes a LONG way towards making it more watchable.  Most of the situations are still pretty silly and pat, and it doesn't quite go far enough into spoof territory to really work (like Police Squad! did).  Still, it's a fun show, and it's a shame David Rasche didn't get more work afterwards.

I did see him in an episode of Monk a couple of years ago, though, where he plays a Sledge-esque gym teacher.

Rasche had a busy 2006. He was in United 93, and played the president in The Sentinel; that's more acting than I did last year (unless you count acting interested).

What's your beef with United 93?

Why would I want to relive something that unpleasant?

Fair enough.

The Sentinal is the movie with Keifer Sutherland and Michael Douglas. It's basically a '24' movie except with goofier writing and old man Michael Douglas improbably boning yet another hot chick. At least this time is was Kim Bassinger, and not another gal that's young enough to be his granddaughter.
Grapes? I hate grapes, I can't stand grapes. I loathe grapes. All kinds of grapes. I hate green grapes and I hate purple grapes. I hate grapes with seeds, I hate grapes without seeds. I hate them peeled and nonpeeled. I hate them in bunches, one at a time and in small groups of twos and threes.

Hey! No fair copying the synopsis from IMDB.  :)

I got both seasons on DVD!! Loved the show. The DVDs rule because they took off the stupid laugh track.
