LOVE this one! My second favorite after "Werewolf."

"But I chased you on a horse! I'm supposed to wiiiiiiin!"

"Look, he doesn't want you in there! Accept it!"

And of course the classic mentioned above: "I'm Bob Evil."  ;D

This is one of my faves, too, and it's grown on me more the more times I've watched it. As usual, you guys have covered most of the best riffs--here's more!

"Look guys, the transport countdown on the computer." (It's all in the delivery.)

Robertson: "...but it's just a precaution, trust me."
Crow: *over the top evil laugh*

Lisa: "Are you offering dinner?"
Crow: "No, I'm saying make me dinner."

"He threw Michael Medved at him!"

Ah, hell, I could really go on all day. I also like the bit where the transport countdown is going way too slow (reminds me of how they keep showing the damn clock in Soultaker) and Servo tries to count along.

You know what I love?

"Ha ha! Fortunately I have the ability to secrete pine tar from my hands!"

I need to produce a fantasy or scifi novel, magical realism, or comic book that features such a character, just so I can quote that.
Love doesn't hurt. It kills.

Oh yeah, I forgot that one! And also "CHECK your FLAPS beFORE taking OFF!" (All in the delivery, again.)

That whole extended airplane scene is just one long display of riffing brilliance, in fact.  ;D

This one consistently cracks me up all the time. It's a hit after hit of jokes and I can watch it over and over. One of my favorite.

I think we can all agree Time Chasers is not the worst film ever. It is still awful though, despite its good intentions and its desire to be more than what it ended up being. If I remember correctly, this thing was made in 1990, nearly 21 years after the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey. Despite this, the movies effects end up looking cheesy, there are a lot of telltale things that suspend your suspension of disbelief. One of the worst things is seeing a Radisson clearly in the background of the movie behind the characters who are eating at a SBARRO. In the scene when they are in a 50's diner, we see a woman in the background who is clearly not dressed in the 50's fashions, and we also see little pegs in the wall, indicating some pictures recently hung there but they took them down to keep the shot looking like it's in the 1950's. The lack of attention to detail is one of the mistakes every amateur filmmaker makes. That's still no excuse though. This movie is bad and it deserved every second of its riffing. With that, let's commence with our favorite misting lines:

"Oh, that was a good chicken head!"
"He didn't count on the assistant janitor."
"So Drew Carey's Nemesis Mimi survived the apocalypse!"
"The future still has Mason Reese!"
"It's the spruce gnat."

Woman in movie: What would Macgyver do?
Eddie: Get Cancelled.
Woman in movie(Looks as though she is looking at a guys crotch): Nick, what is that?
Crow: That means I like you!

The fart noise when he's rolling over backwards still gets me every time.

(Nick gets up with a huge brown stain on his pants) "EWWWWWWWWWWWW"
I've sort of fused Flashdance with MC Hammer shit.

I loved the fact that the filmmakers who sent the movie to the MST3k were incredulous that they made fun of it.  I mean, what did expect??

Huh. I hate to contradict MIke, but when the episode aired, the MST3k Usenet group received this message:

From: Edgemovie (edgemo...@aol.com)
Subject: **THE DIRECTOR OF "TIME CHASERS" SPEAKS
Newsgroups: rec.arts.tv.mst3k.misc
Date: 1997/11/28

We have been getting bombarded by questions about "Time Chasers" airing on
MST3K so here's some info;

No, that was not Lisa Kudrow, it was an actress named Victoria Bourne (Who was
dating the producer at the time.)

"Time Chasers" was shot in the summer of 1990 on weekends for the paltry sum of
$150,000.  This was everyone's first feature, including mine.  The
revolutionary sequences set in 1777 were shot during a re-inactment of the
Battle of Bennington in Vermont.  (Total cost for hundreds of period extras and
one big battle - $300  Roger Corman would be proud)

The cast and crew had a big reunion party while watching the film on MST3K.  We
left our egos at the door and laughed our asses off.  You have no idea how many
of the comments we're actually true. (Those executives WERE high school friends
who brought their own suits!)  We also promoted the showing of the film
in-state by sending out press releases.

Most of us have moved onto bigger and better projects.  (You will be happy to
know that I am now leaving the screenwriting chores to others.)  You can find
the unmolested version of "Time Chasers" in most video stores.  Two more recent
features I have directed include; "Diamond Run", (starring Richard Lynch), and
"Pressure Point", (starring Steve Railsback and Larry Linville).  Both will be
released on video in Feb. and March respectively.

Yes, many scenes we're cut from the film to fit it into the time slot (some of
the better ones i think.)  The team at Best Brains was very upfront an great to
work with.  There we're even discussions about having actor Peter Harrington
(Mr. Pink Suit) do a cameo on the show.  We are all psyched that our little
film continues to entertain.  Ironically, this airing made the film finally
turn a profit!  If you have any questions you can contact me at
edgemo...@aol.com.  Thanks for the mocking!  - David Giancola - Writer and
Director of "Time Chasers"
*   *   *   *   *

I'm not sure if Mike's getting the film confused with another, or if something got miscommunicated or if David was just at a different party than everyone else. Sampo, do you remember this as well?

Oh, and some of my favorite quotes:

"Welcome to Martin's. Whazzup?"

"Thanks Director's College Buddies who had their own suits!"

"She's disguised as Lisa, our Time-Life operator."

"You didn't count on the assistant janitor!"

"That moss has taken a lichen to that tree!"

"I got a dead alien in the attic."

"Dr. Demento: Patriot!"

"So, history is just circling the drain at this point."

"Wow! He even declared war on his surge protector!"

And I'm rather fond of this movie as a movie as well.

This is totally my favorite episode. I don't know how many times I've watched it, but I still laugh my ass off at Nick and the cessna.

"For Castleton!"

"So is this Prefontaine or Postfontaine?"

"This guy need chinderwear"

"Can it change the fact that I have crunchy pants?"

"aww, he's trying to ask himself out on a date!"
He split Robin's arrow in twain!!

I'm gonna be honest...I've never seen Time Chasers at any video place. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough. Although I DO remember several years ago wandering around Blockbuster and in the family section coming across "The Quest of the Delta Knights". It's amazing how tempted I was to rent the movie....
