https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/856842557/shield-the-world-s-first-signal-proof-headwear?ref=card

A Kickstarter for "Stylish & Comfortable Signal Proof Hats That Incredibly Fit And Reflect Electromagnetic Waves."

So this, but more stylish:

Finally, I can BE crazy without LOOKING crazy!

Some gems from the campaign:

Quote
We are not saying that it protects 100% against all kinds of electromagnetic waves that are bad for your health, what we are saying is that if you care about yourself, be smart and put on this first signal proof apparel instead of the usual one - no one will spot it and it will protect you. Maybe once it will pay off.

Ooooh. I getcha!

Quote
Many people are asking about signals that come through other parts of head and hit the inside of the reflective cap, then pass back through the brain a second time or stay inside and multiply their power - This is ridiculous.

Hey, remember this?

It's $42.50, plus shipping, at Cool Stuff Inc. right now as part of their year end sale. Shipping will be pricey though as that sucker is heavy. It's also the retail version, so will lack all the Kickstarter only stuff.

Oh, and while looking for my post, I found my reference to the Megatokyo Visual Novel, which I had forgotten about . As I suspected, it's still not done. Predicting that Megatokyo is late is about as risky as betting that the sun comes up.

Played that recently.  Pretty good, though a bit challenging.  However I wish their were some actual interior missions.

Here's another pretty cool Kickstarter:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/warpo/dont-cuddle-the-krampus-retro-80s-toy-line

A plus Krampus toy in the vein of My Pet Monster:

They even did an awesome 80s style commercial for it:

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/v/ZLLSfcbCpi4" target="_blank" class="new_win">https://www.youtube.com/v/ZLLSfcbCpi4</a>

Unfortunately they didn't make their goal, so this isn't happening (at least right now). It's a shame, it looked really neat.

So, remember the Rifftrax Manos liveshow? It had this in it:

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/v/dRsVyZqwWY8?" target="_blank" class="new_win">https://www.youtube.com/v/dRsVyZqwWY8?</a>

Yeah, that got cancelled two years ago. There were apparently some issues around the filming of it.

Well, now comes word of another sequel, this one produced by "Debbie" from the original and including several other folks from the original.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1840778752/manos-returns

They're only looking for $24k, which is about twice what the folks who made the puppet version of "Manos" wanted.

Just a reminder- The Manos sequel Kickstarter ends today, if you'd like to contribute. It's been funded already, but some of the stretch goals will make it, ahem, a "better" film.

Was checking Kickstarter and noticed in their "featured" section a documentary on Frank Zappa. I also noticed the director, a Mr. Alex Winter, aka Bill S. Preston.

He's been directing for years, but I'm always amused to see his name pop up. Anyway. Zappa doc. Might want to fund it.

Compound: Watch the movie Grand Piano.  It's a silly but very fun thriller and Winter plays a key role.  Very fun.

Freezepop (Now with a tenuous connection to MST3K!) is Kickstarting their next album.

Freezepop is on a very small list (Like- 5) of artists for whom I will unquestionably buy albums. Their music makes my ears smile.

I would be quite suprised if they don't have some Cameo or something in the new series.

I'm backing 2 new ones at the moment:
Dark Souls Boardgame
 https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/steamforged/dark-soulstm-the-board-game/

Dresden Files Card Game

Yeah I wasn't sure where to start the thread! I backed it , but I'm pretty sceptical that it will get over the line, for a new IP that's a ridiculously steep hill to climb.
