Anyone know where to get QUALITY multi-dvd cases?
« on: January 13, 2013, 10:20:37 AM »
I am in the process of converting various paper packaged DVD sets to plastic mulit-dvd cases with custom artwork as well as converting larger packaging to slimmer cases for shelf space. For the life of me I can't find a source for some quality cases like the ones used by the studios.  They have to be out there somewhere. I would prefer a US seller if possible but I will check out anyone. This is an example of a 6 disc one I want to find:

I did find a source for ones from Scanavo but they specialize in the ones that utilize disc overlap. If I have to I will use them but I prefer to find ones like above.  I can't find any manufacturer or anything on the one above.

I use mertline for the multi-disc cases I put Rifftrax releases in.  Prices and quality are good.

I have used Meritline for years and while they have some good stuff they have a lot of the cheapo cases. Their 3 and 4 disc ones aren't bad. but I have tried their 6 and up ones and the hubs are just terrible.

I've used the 10 disc cases for years and never had a problem.  Go figure.

They have good prices but all the multi discs ones in 14mm use the overlap style.  I will probably just have to settle though as it seems it is pretty near impossible to get these ones that the studios use.

Staples used to carry cases that could easily fit 12 discs in.. Haven't been able to find them in a few years now :o
I used them to hold my copies of each of the 7 seasons of Star Trek TNG, DS9, Voyager, and the 10 movies.. As well as the original series and animated series.

Reclaiming my space is underway:

I plan to replace all my multi disc sets with custom covers and no thicker than a standard keepcase if possible.

I did that too, make all my cases smaller.   I use only thinpak small cases now for new ones too.

For the complete shows on DVD like Star Trek: Next Generation, Buffy, Angel, etc.,, they make nice books like photo albums that have space for ALL of the dvds for a couple long shows and it only takes up like 2 inches in your movie shelves.  Like putting in a book in there.

I have NOT thought about taking all my MST3K in those books yet as the covers that were made by Josh look so good.

Looks like you're using EFX to get the covers. Nice. :)

I did the same thing with my Simpsons DVD sets, except I made the covers myself (I didn't like the way the character sizes on the spines fluctuated).

Yeah. I just found that site but I had been using ctaulbee's Simpsons covers as they are also posted on R1DB.com as well.  Can't have enough cover sites.

I got mine (this one!) at amazon.com.   Also got some of the insert pages too.
