Remember the fake trailers are going to be between Grindhouse and Planet Terror, not before. Although if they put them in both places I wouldn't complain :)

Considering the number of trailers we see today before the movie, I would rather see the fake trailers in between the two features.  I saw 300 this weekend twice and the running time for ads and commercials were about 15 minutes.  While the fake trailers would be a breath of fresh air,  I would rather jump to the movie.

Also, Rob is talking about a Direct-To-DVD release of Machete.  So maybe one of these trailers isn't fake. :)

Stuff like this makes you believe there just might be some hope for the American movie industry.

I've decided I think this movie will bomb but it won't stop me loving every second of it.

Grindhouse looks awesome... I love RR and  QT.  Together is like joing old friends for an annual riffing party... only they make movies for fun not money so much.
The website is a lot of fun too. Check it out.  http://www.grindhousemovie.net/

I don't think it's going to get a wide enough release to "bomb." I think it'll do very well for the theatres that get it.

Did you mean that this movie will be "da bomb"? Or "this movie will be da bomb, yo"? :P
This iRiff will only be on sale for another few hours. Get it while it's cheap!

Just read in Page Six today, courtesy of joblo.com, the initial cut of Grindhouse could face an NC-17 rating if it doesn't get some heavy edits. This is awesome news for those of us who want to see as f-ed up a movie as possible. Hopefully if they do bring it down to an R it won't be too large a sacrifice. And even then, hopefully we'll get the original cut on DVD.

The article I'm talking about is here: http://www.nypost.com/seven/03152007/gossip/pagesix/pagesix.htm

I absolutely LOVE the concept and think it's the coolest thing ever, but I won't be seeing it. Not my kinda flick. :^)

No matter what kind of theatrical release we get, we all know that the DVD will kick-ass.   ;D

You know that makes absolutely no sense, right?

No matter what kind of theatrical release we get, we all know that the DVD will kick-ass.   ;D

Yet I can't help but think that the experience would suffer on DVD. I hope I don't have to go out of my way to see it.

from darkhorizons.com

The New York Post reports that there is no way the current version of the film can earn an "R" rating, not a problem for the intended audience but definitely a problem for the exhibitors, marketing people and advertisers who won't be able to promote or display either an NC-17 or Unrated version.

I don't understand, what's the point of of a rating if it means the movie can't be shown?

Theaters will refuse to show it. Because Adult films are bad, mmmkay?
