I remember being really scared of that scene when I was a kid.

No one loves the outsider like Waters.

Got a kick out of seeing Last Unicorn up there. That holds the distinction of being the one movie I riffed that I actually liked more after riffing than before. All other movies I either feel the exact same way about or I get sick of them after riffing, but watching that movie over and over really helped me appreciate the animation (and I normally hate Rankin/Bass hand drawn style). It also helped that I read the novel for the first time while working on it, and was pleasantly surprised at how good (and full of satire) it was.

Have a taco, everyone!

Cool! Thanks for the list. The burbs made it, yes! Never heard of that Fitscaraldo movie.

I agree with you on not breaking up the ties into arbitrarily different spots, by the way.

Oh, and did you know you can publically host images on sites like Photobucket, to avoid the hotlinking. :)
I know you are but what am I

Even easier/quicker than Photobucket is imgur, too. If it's good enough for Reddit, it's good enough for us.

Meanwhile, I really should get around to watching The Burbs. It's been creeping it's way up my Netflix queue for over a year now, but never seems to gain any ground. It's like I keep going out of my way to avoid exploring Hanks' comedic side.

It's not arbitrary at all.  If anything it's very, very orderly.

I like to imagine that's a young Doc Brown, before he hit his head on the toilet seat.

Proof that Eddie Murphy used to be amazing and brilliant.

Only complaint I have is that the parody trailer for Hairspray is actually a parody trailer of the remake and not the original film.

But other than that nit-pick, great job so far.

Thanks. Yeah, I suspected as much, but not having seen either of them wasn't sure. And pretty much everything I found was a parody of the new one.

I haven't seen the remake, but Hairspray is a really good movie.  Despite the grossout factors in a lot of his early movies, I think that John Waters loves his weird outcast characters and there is a joy for not only seeing Ricki Lake's character coming out on top, but also her loving parents supporting her throughout (if only Divine and Jerry Stiller were MY parents...)

Paris, Texas

I had an experienced not far removed from this recently.  Though I think I have more sympathy for the fictional crazy guy then the real one.
