Mashup albums (The Gray Album, etc)
pyro:
Anyone a fan of mashup albums? I haven't heard the Gray Album (though I have it on an mp3 CD somewhere) but I have one of Jay Z's Black Album mixed with various Grateful Dead songs called "Jay Z's Dead" which I absolutely love except for some of the stuff that Rick Rubin is responsible for on the Jay Z's original tracks...
I also have one called "The Beachles - Sgt. Petsound's Lonely Hearts Club Band" which the creator of calls unlistenable avant garde noise, only heard a few tracks but sounded interesting.
And I'm currently downloading one called "Phish Battles The Pink Floyd Robots" which is a mix of Phish songs, the Flaming Lips album Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots, and Pink Floyd's The Wall.....
Anyone have any suggestions? And if allowed I can post sendspace links for the Beachles and the Gray Album since I uploaded them earlier for a friend of my dad's.
BathTub:
I love mash-ups, but sort of lost track of things when GYBO got a cease and desist and weren't allowed to link mp3s anymore, which made it annoying to actually go find new ones.
As for album? Lionel Vinyl - 2003 - Big Man, Small Cake is the one I consistantly go back too.
gbeenie:
Although I haven't really gotten into albums so much, there are definitely mashup tracks I enjoy.
dj BC and the Beastles is pretty good stuff (Beastie Boys and Beatles tracks mashed)
"I Can't Lick You Out of My Bed" - Kylie Minogue Vs. Ludacris; oddly, I like the mashup better than the original tracks.
pyro:
couldn't find Lionel Vinyl on oink, but I searched dj BC and found something else that looks incredibly cool:

also the guy apparently did an album called Glassworks which is Phillip Glass mixed with rap but that's not up there, but I definatly need to find it
SmilinJackRoss:
I really like the grey album, but i don't know of much other mash-up stuff out there. Although I do have an mp3 of Eminem rapping over Britney Spears' Oops I did it Again beat. Pretty funny how well it lines up.
