I suppose in this day and age when you're supposed to be liking hip and cool music, i could consider my love of opera a guilty pleasure. I also love singing to operatic vocals, like on any given Old Tarja fronted Nightwish songs. It's a huge challenge to sing in that style of music too. My vocal chords are basically the instrument I like to practice honing. If I could describe it to people inclined towards playing a musical instrument like the guitar, opera to a singer like myself is like transcending past playing just three boring little chords on your guitar or composing a wicked guitar solo. It takes versatility to sing operatically just like it takes versatility to really become proficient at playing a musical instrument.
Being a genocidal maniac is not one of my turn ons.

Is it weird to hear the Safety Dance in my head watching Game of Thrones?

I'm doing the same thing. I know it really hard for me to that but I love doing it.

I'm late to the party, but my heart and mind has been won over by Gangnam Style. I tried to dislike it. I feel like I'm supposed to. I just can't. If anyone's ever seen that episode of American Dad where a time-travelling Stan from the future plays some future music for Francine, my reaction to the song as it played on my radio this morning was the exact same reaction...

I finally gave in and listened to it for the first time last week.

Also late to the party.  But I'm digging it.

There's a cute video on TMZ of a baby who won't eat unless daddy plays it.  Too cute.

Alanis Morissette, Madonna and Coldplay for me (though I actually really like Coldplay).
