Tough to say if those elephant drawings are good or bad. On the one side they generate money that helps the elephants, on the other they are not doing it on their own, there is a handler guiding the elephant to move the brush, usually by pinching the ear. I guess you have to look at it like a job for them, they are not wild any more and never will be. If it wasn't for the conservation outposts they would be on the way to extinction.

If it wasn't for the conservation outposts they would be on the way to extinction.That particular one may be faked but I have seen an Asian Elephant paint a forest, with multiple colors, with a river with no human contact whatsoever. Admittedly the picture was overall less complex but very impressive none the less. I am sure elephants need to be trained to do this, I highly doubt an elephant would just start painting by it's own accord.
The zoo where I live tries to sell art done by the apes. It's just splatters, some all of which is likely feces.
