Okay I decided to give season three of Bones a chance and you know what the show seems to be back on track.  the subplots are not taking over, the characters have stopped acting like morons, and the stories feel focused again.  I think having a smaller episode count and a plot arc has helped keep the writing on track.  So far this seems to be the best season out of the three.

I do wish Sweets was Gordon Gordon instead,I mean that would really help lift the weaker episodes.

Okay it is looking like Bone's father is going to go free and I guess because he thought he was protecting his family we are supposed to feel good about this but I have to ask,how good are we supposed to feel about a guy who thinks he can make his own laws up to and including making it okay to commit murder and what is more he doesn't feel bad about it all walking around on the streets.  It seems to me it is only a matter of time before someone does something that makes this guy mad and he is back to gutting and burning people.  People who don't think the law applies to them and who seem to feel happy about committing murder are the exact type of people prisons were made for if you ask me.  I mean if he doesn't belong in prison who does?  The writers seem to think we will cheer when he gets away with it because he is Bone's father but that really shouldn't play into the outcome.

Okay so the show is over now right?  I mean either Bones or her father murdered the deputy director of the FBI(speaking of now that the idea is out there why isn't the government bringing charges against her?)either way I can't see the FBI ever letting her touch one of their cases again and I can't see her ever being called as an expert witness again,I mean what jury would take her word for anything.  Do writers even think these things out before writing them?  Personally I would have ended this plot with her father getting a plea deal that put him in prison for the rest of his life, that way he doesn't get away with murder and the viewer is not asked to believe that a suspect in a murder would be allowed to work FBI cases.  I get the feeling that some times the writers of this show go with emotion rather then thinking the plot out.

Good Night!  Now they have blown up my favorite character, having his hands blown up hand better not mean Zak is out of season 4.

Oh for crying out out. These people do know that they will never catch the killer if they spend all their time becoming the cast of Lifeboat, right?

Oh I did not like that season final my favorite character is a serial killer and then they are letting him off the hook?!  How come everyone Bone's cares about gets a free pass to murder whoever they want.  The people who write this stuff are screwed up.  Cam is right he should be locked up for the rest of his life.  Why does everyone feel sorry for Zak but not the people he helped kill?

Watching Yanks in the Uk now and so far it is a fun little episode.  Oh I have noticed that one of the locations was used in a Jeeves and Wooster.

Oh and I think Booth may need to see Gordon Gordon or Sweets sometime soon,he seems to be flipping out again.  i get the impression that the only reason he was not firing shots into traffic was that he did not have a gun.

I like this new intern Starit(or whatever his name is)the fact that Hodgins hates him makes their scenes interesting and funny,I wouldn't mind if he sticks around for a while.

Wow that sounds like fun I'll have to see if Netflix gets it when it comes to DvD.

I think this scene could have been staged better, take a look at the guy on the right.

Stop,or I will shoot my boss?!

Hey Phil LaMar has become a supporting character, that's cool!

Okay just finished season two of Castle and I have to ask how on earth is Castle going to get back next year.  I mean he and Beckett are over,he doesn't need to do any more research, and it's making him take longer to write a book.  Why on earth would he come back and why would he be welcome back.  It will be interesting to see how the writers explain that.

The only problem I am having now is that once I finish season 3 season four doesn't come out to mid September and I don't think that will give me time to get caught up before season 5 starts.  That's the trouble with starting four seasons behind.

I just started season 3 of Castle and I have to say that is what I call starting off a season with a bang.  I am not sure why everyone is mad at Castle,I mean he had no idea Beckett was going to say anything because he thought she was happy with what's his name so since he didn't have a reason to be there any more he left.  One thing I like about this show is how they are able to do these personal subplots with out losing the sense of fun and that is something very few series do. This series keeps working it's self higher and higher on my list of favorite shows of all time.

Oh and in one episode Lyta from Babylon 5 is playing a psychic of all things, that's cool.

I just finished season three of Castle and I can't believe I have to wait until September to see what happens next.  Castle is now one of my favorite shows of all time. It's got the perfect mix of action, tension, mystery, and humor. It has one of the best casts I have seen in a Tv show.  I was really sad to see Montgomery go,and what is going to happen to Beckett? These people don't see like the type to just stop coming after her and did she ever hear Castle? Oh and how long before these people figure out that Castle is a problem and try to him?  The amazing thing is this show keep me on the edge of my seat but it also lets me laugh and just enjoy the show at the same time,it reminds me of Hitchcock's movies in that way.  So many awesome episodes this season.  This is one of the best shows I have seen in a long time and the wait for season 4 to come to DvD is killing me already and I just finished season three this morning.  What a show.

It's a good thing Castle panned out because I have given up on Bones.  i enjoyed it at first but now I completely hate the character of Bones.  She is pure evil and Booth is just a weak willed doormat for stay near her and going along with here.  I mean it is now to the point that I can't enjoy the mysteries any more because I hate Bones so much.  I mean she takes Booth's sperm(and I can't believe he gave it to her)then when he gets a tumor she doesn't even try to find out if he is alright she just goes to south America and then she starts dated his boss. She doesn't even care when he nearly dies.  It takes a lot to make me give up on a show but hating the main character will do it and think the way Bones treats Booth makes her one of the most evil and selfish characters on TV and I can't enjoy the mystery part any more.  I am done with this show.

Still Castle is as good as ever.  I loved the XFiles style episode, that was just classic.  Nathan Fillion's impersonation of David Duchovny was great. Good night that cliff hanger and I have to wait three months to see what happens.  I hate that.  Castle season three has to have one of the best cliffhangers of all time.  I can't for the life of me figure out how they are going to catch whoever is behind all this but I can't wait to find out.

nah, it's just doc over and over again.

i am curious, though, doc. you said you disliked the romance parts of other shows, how does castle overcome that for you when it's such a large part of the show?

Because it is kept in the background and it doesn't stop the show.  I guess it is just better written and feels like a natural part of the stories unlike say Bones where it stops the stories.  Also I think Castle has found good character based reasons why they are apart but in something like Bones it just seems like one character is a jerk and using the others feelings just to get what they want with out giving anything in return.  There just seems to be more give and take in Castle and both characters make mistakes and as I said it doesn't seem to get in the way of the mystery, adventure,or fun.  It reminds me a bit of North by Northwest, sure there was a love story but since it was a well written part of the over all story I didn't feel like it was wasting my time. It's the same thing with Castle.
