There was so much of this movie that didn't lead to anything. The Doll paralell, the car crash, the water scene, the dead or injured  Captain Old Guy, the extensive hallucinatory episodes/flashbacks, etc.

Why dammit? WHY?! ><

[/quote]i know, right? although i'm watching the original right now (okay, half-watching it, i really should just sit down and drink it in) and my big thing about it is thinking, oh, yeah, right, this is just like the scene in the remake, but if you wanted to shoot it CORRECTLY.

The only explanation is Anthony Shaffer has Alzheimer's. He kind of just went with it, since he needs money. Every day he must have said, What am I writing again?

The Ood: Apologies. I said: I hope you enjoy your meal.

Some of the movies in the past I have had a hard time finding a good stinger, but this one is just overflowing with them.  For the first time, I might have to do a montage stinger.

There really was.  I almost went with a montage as well.

I had the truck running over the girl on the boat, "What's In The Bag?  A Shark?", "How'd it get burned?", The long drawn out walk across the room and punch Sister Beech, drop kick the other girl, and run up the hill dressed like a bear and punch another woman.

I ended up just going with Sister Beech's Punch Out.  (Which can be found right around 1:21:42:00)

I'm reminded of a line I thought would be perfect for the RiffTrax of The Happening:  "Not the breeze! Not the breeze!!"
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere.
Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen."

If memory serves me correctly, I believe the "not the breeze" was in the Happening RiffTrax...I'll have to watch it again to make sure...(not that I mind watching it again, I enjoyed it)

EDIT: Weird, memory didn't serve me correctly, but I distinctly remember that line somewhere... ah well, I agree it would've been perfect for the RiffTrax version of The Happening

I'm a little late to the party, but I just figured out how to extract movie clips for stingers.  Here are some of my favorites.
