Thanks for the review!

No prob! One thing I posted in my assessment on G+ was that people expecting Lost-style "epic" Abrams would probably feel underwhelmed, while fans of Supernatural (and possibly even Whedonites) would feel familiar with the scaled-back style.

Not a bad pilot episode. Of course, this had a massive budget and big time Director. What will next week look like?

I enjoyed it, though I do wonder how they'll keep the series going considering the rather sizeable budget something like this may take.  I expect lots more scenes in forests.

Though it was a huge hit for NBC - they've probably greenlit a second and third series based on the pilot numbers alone.

I personally hope people stick with it.  It was a pretty good set-up for a show.... and most importantly for ME, it didn't try to force feed you loads of proposed mysteries in the one-hour pilot.  It was pretty straight-forward and simple in "here's what you'll get, and here's what you'll wonder about for a bit but we'll get to it."

My complaints with shows like The Event and FlashForward was that it tried to cram so many "questions" and be a huge epic STORY all at the start....  Although I've heard a few people complain that they weren't "blown away" by the pilot.  I guess that goes to show how spoiled we (as viewers) have been that we expect a set-up for a show to HAVE to blow our minds.  Me, I'd rather have a good proposed story-line and just go on from there.

Oh and for the record, I gave the pilot an 8 out of 10.  It did what a pilot should do, which is set it all up, tell you what you're gonna get with this show as well as the general feel... and creates a launching point for a series.

Why I took off 2 points is that of ALL the crap that I could nit-pick about with believability or whatever, the fact that these people were so damn clean and well-groomed......... come on.

Yeah, I've heard the "too well groomed" argument about the show, but really, do we want to see shitty looking people on TV? Especially ones as hot as Juliet Mitchell?

Yeah, that's why it only lost 2 points of 10. :)  Also cuz the main chick wasn't nude enough.

Yeah, a guy on Twitter said that everybody should be looking like Ricky Williams when he was retired from the NFL. LMFAO

As for believability, yeah, I mean, they haven't explained why steam and wind power wouldn't work because you KNOW that's the first thing mofos would try when this happened.  But maybe there's a "techno-magical" reason for this.  Only so much you can explain in an hour.

Yeah, I figure they'll get to it.  They DID say "all power" and not just "electricity" .... and that physics went weird and shit after it happened.  I am leaning towards some man-made manipulation of the physical laws of the planet.

Really good first show that did not over do it and left a lot of part opened doors.   Well done.

They were pretty clean and made-up.  I giggled when the brother and sister were revealed 'hunting' and again with "Nate" they looked like they'd stepped out of some Hunger Games/Twilight mash up.  Fun pilot though.

I liked the first ep well enough, and any Abrams show that I've grown to love didn't grab me in the first episode, so hopefully it builds in a satisfying way. :)
FINE

This strikes me more as a show that just has Abrams name dropping to get it made.  I don't really think he actually has a lot to do with it.  Im liking Twilights Mustache(less) Dad in it though.

I was bieng threated with death by wolf raping before it was cool!.

I know, he probably is thrilled to see a real script and is excited.

I liked the second episode more than the pilot.... in the preview for next week, it looked like Mark Pellegrino (Jacob from LOST / Lucifer from Supernatural) is in episode 3.

I also know the guy who played Lapidus (the hawaiian shirt pilot from Lost) will be showing up sometime too.
