Oh yes. It's very well done. Probably done as a proof of concept/ability for that animation company. I'm still not sure about the chicken or the egg question though. The buildings are awful delapedated and falling over for being abandoned for only 15 years according to revolution. That seems more like 100 years to me.

Yeah, it had no real story, but the chase was far better than anything in Terminator 4.

What a weird jump to make

I get it.  That robot looked like a ship from Terminator 4.

Okay, we're nearing the premiere date of this show and I am getting excited!!!

NBC has been promoting the shit out of it, including a huge push at SDCC and during the Olympics...  And apparently, the majority of people who are aware of it seem to be interested, so it may actually stick.

Just listened to The Revolution Podcast, by the same folks that do The Fringe Podcast (over at Golden Spiral Media), and that got me even MORE excited. ( http://www.therevolutionpodcast.com ) ... I'd suggest it for anyone who likes podcasts and theorizing and in-depth reviews of shows and stuff.  I've listened to the Fringe Podcast for a while now, and it's my type of fan-base.

Anywho... seems like there's enough positive hype about this one to maybe keep it around, provided the show not suck. (The aforementioned podcasters saw the pilot at SDCC and loved it...)  Abrams is usually pretty great when he's actually INVOLVED (which he apparently will be more involved in this than with Alcatraz and a few others) and Kripke is VERY hands-on... so I can see this one being really good.

And no Lindeloff, so LOST haters can relax.

If I can get my antenna working, I might actually be able to watch it live though on NBC.

At least NBC is actually promoting a show on their network for once (that isn't The Office or Whitney)....

On the other hand, NBC are so desperate for ratings that even if Revolution is a mild hit, it'll stick around.  AMC can afford to be picky.  :)

Just need to remember to set the DVR for this one...  The guide doesn't go out far enough yet.

Just pay any even minor attention to my Twitter or G+ feeds over the next month and I'm sure you'll be reminded. :)

I actually haven't been this geared up for the start of a show since Fringe.  I reeeeally like Person of Interest, but I'm not "OMG IT NEEDS TO COME BACK NOOOOOW" about it. And as far as I know, Abrams left most of that show to Nolan.. (not a bad thing at ALL)  But I know Abrams will be having a solid hand in this one, and I still get them feeling that MAIN driving force will be Kripke... so I have good feelings about this as far as staying power goes.  Kripke knows how to drive a story.

I *WAS* only mildly interested in this show at first, but I have to say that I am fired up on it now.  The podcast helped a lot, because they talked a bit about how much positive energy has been swirling around the nerd-base about it....

WOO!!

Sounds like JJ Abrams has been reading SM Stirling's Emberverse series.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emberverse

Very good series of books, by the way. Tad grim in the beginning with the collapse, mass death and rampant cannibalism. But once the population stabilizes and the neo-feudal societies take root and start scheming against each other, it becomes like a fantasy series without magic. Some suggested psionic abilities developing in the latter books, however.

I hope this show as as many ninja lesbians as the books do.

Watched the pilot streaming online, and I quite liked it.  It was pretty scaled-back and simple, which was nice.... and unlike The Event and FlashForward and Alcatraz, it wasn't all big hype about the "big mystery" and figuring it out etc etc.

That whole "Let's start with the giant elaborate mystery and go from there" technique has never worked well.  Hell, even LOST started out with just a mere plane crash and a sound in the jungle, and became some huge elaborate thing.  All the aforementioned failed shows have all begun at "LOST: season 3" which is what I kind of believe was their downfall.

This one (properly) just introduces the characters (which I believe/feel is and should be the show's primary focus) and touches on the power outage briefly here and there....  I see that whole deal in the same way Hitchcock used "macguffins", a plot device to simply move the story along and allow the characters and their relationships to be explored.

I think if people actually realize that this isn't a show about "why the power went out" but more of "how these people survived it" I think it could do really well.

Also, MUCH more Kripke feel than Abrams feel, which is a good thing.
