Where is "here" for you?
DetroitIf MoMa needs volunteers, that would be more my area of knowledge.
They probably do and yes, MOMA is awesome too (I just lean a bit more eastward) as is the Contemporary Jewish Art (though I find that's like the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History; the permanent collection is okay once, maybe twice, what makes it worth coming back for are the temporary exhibits). When I was at MOMA I ended up giving an impromptu art appreciation talk (which boiled down to "forget what the artist says it's about, what do you make of it?") there's something about the way I always wear a tweed jacket with elbow patches and have my glasses perched on the end of my nose, that makes people feel free to come and ask me about how to understand art and things of that nature.
Oh and the Rainforest installation at The Cali Institute of Science in Golden Gate Park is splendid, and yes, I still wore the tweed.
