April 17 Release...
« on: April 12, 2012, 07:04:38 PM »
Rifftrax, once again mysteriously forgetting to note this in the forums, brings us..

Curse of Bigfoot

Quote
Well, we found it. The Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny of horror films. Read that again. Reflect on it. Maybe discuss it with your local librarian, or, better yet, one of the pungent men who spends all day on a library computer glancing over his shoulder nervously as he “does internet research.”  The Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny of horror films. A bold claim, especially when you consider that Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny is arguably a horror film itself, based on the raw metric tonnage of nightmares it’s produced.

Just like that holiday classic, Curse of Bigfoot feels like an insane sandwich slapped together by Dagwood Bumstead after an extended opium binge, maybe Peanut Butter & Tacks & Pimento Loaf & a laserdisc of Newsies. A film within a film within a damp cardboard box within a film. Some highlights: a hideous papier-mâché creature (Bigfoot?) gradually approaches a woman feeding her dog for five continuous minutes. A high school teacher, apparently of the common high school subject “Monsters,” forces his students to listen to a guest speaker who would never be allowed within 500 feet of any school. Logging. Lots of logging. Logger deaths. And, to wash it all down and make sense of everything, a vintage monster movie stapled to the end, featuring a monster who may or may not be Bigfoot (it definitely isn’t Bigfoot). You don’t want to miss this.

Seeing as how I can't seem to get an answer on why they've stopped releasing divxs (a question at one time that would have gotten a quick response), my theory is that they've abadoned this forum.

I saw this unriffed I think once or twice, and it's not that great a film. They're gonna need some good jokes, man.

Maybe they'll riff LEGEND OF BOGGY CREEK someday?

You should email support@rifftrax.com about it. I don't know when or why this happened

(Good advice for any support issue.)

Apparently the actress who played Debbie in Manos is an uncredited student in this movie.

I`m betting the Divx`s got the push because of Apple. I have the feeling that Mike, Kevin and Bill are Apple fans and that no size dose of sanity, reality or bacon will ever turn them away from it. Hence the mp4`s which would be iPoop compatible or something.

??

Mp4s work on more devices than ipods. They play on xbox's, ps3s, wdtv lives and other similar media centers. My guess is that the Divx's weren't downloaded as much and that if you have a device that plays divx, it will play MP4s.

I know EZTV stopped putting up their DIVX and/or XVID AVI files..... They switched to MP4.

I think DIVX is going the way of Bigfoot.
...and there he was, reigning supreme at number two.  The One... The Only... The Unabeefer.

Yay, another old movie!

They're comparing this to Santa and Bunny but it's more like Monster a Go Go. According to IMDB, a film made in 1959 cobbled together with some scenes shot in the 70's.

Wouldn't mind the mp4s, except the aspect ratio is always off on their mp4s (640 X 480 instead of 720 X 480). So I've been dowloading the mpegs and re-encoding myself.

Another Rifftrax VOD? Awesome.

It would be nice if there was some kind of notice from the guys, but ehn, there's people on the forum who are on the ball enough to let us know about new releases.
