Well, there's always a matter of subjectivity in any list. While I'm not going to put movies I don't care for on my list simply because a lot of critics believe it's brilliant - I never-the-less feel that what I put on my 25 can be considered 'the best' of the decade in addition to being "personal favorites".

For me it's not one or the other, I like Citizen Kane -for example- not only for its technical achievements, but also because I like the story and characters. It's not like taking some bitter tasting medicine that is good for you, but gives no pleasure. I'll sit down and watch Kane with as much happiness and enthusiasm as I do when I pop on something like Iron Man. Kane isn't in my booskshelf to impress visitors. Art is still entertainment for me.

Mine were films I liked then and still like watching now, Pump Up The Volume for example, is tons of fun, and Samantha Mathis is lovely in it.

It's also fun to see an FCC representative asked if they've seen the film (which I've seen happen in a few classes on communications) never ever have any of them seen it, which is odd, you'd think one of them would have.

No. You really don't. I'd rank it below Shanghai Surprise or Under a Cherry Moon or Hard to Hold in terms of quality and watchability. If you want to watch a good film with a rapper (and Winkle was more hip hop than rap at the time. He's Boyz IIMen, not NWA.) go watch New Jack City or Boyz in the Hood or even Friday. If you want to watch a trashy film with idiots on motorcycles, go watch Stone Cold. But there are far better things to do with your time than to watch Cool as Ice.

You know, as far as rap goes, Vanilla Ice is far from the worst. I mean look at Faith No More. I have to admit, Ice is actually pretty good at what he does. I prefer him to P. Diddy, or one "Little Wayne," or any of the other rappers who are popular now...or ever, really. I guess Will Smith was alright.

Will Smith is one of the very few rappers I like enough to give the high praise that he makes rap tolerable. Also I respect the fact that he recorded a fair amount of stuff under his real name (or at least a name that sounds like a real name, I'm not sure which). And, despite being a common subject of "Oh hell naw" jokes, he is actually a pretty decent actor when given material that's suited to him, and/or that actually warrants (or at least requires) a particularly good performance.

I thought he was great in I Am Legend, especially considering what he had to work with: a dog, CGI zombie/vampires, and being the only speaking character (flashbacks notwithstanding) for more than half the movie. As for the movie itself, I thought it was an interesting concept, until the Dark Seekers showed up and I realized it 28 Days Later, a movie I kind of liked. But If you're going to make yet another zombie apocalypse movie, at least try to be original enough that it doesn't draw immediate comparisons to another zombie apocalypse movie.

Once Will Smith got out of the period where everyone wanted him to play the "Fresh Prince", he really showed us what he was made of. I like him, quite a bit. I'd have his baby, were I so permitted/endowed with the proper organs for fetal growth.

Huih...  You may have noticed my last post ended mid word. Firefox decided to jump to a different page for reasons I don't understand. When I navigated back, everything I had typed was gone. I can only assume I accidentally posted it mid word despite not touching the mouse, and I have no idea how I could have done it with the keyboard .

Zombieland was the most original and entertaining zombie movie I've seen since Shaun of the Dead. My only complaint is that it dragged a bit while they were at Bill Murray's house.

And it's Lil Wayne actually, not Little Wayne. That's right, his name even stupider than you thought.
Speaking of which, I've been wondering, is it Fity Cent or Fifty Cent? 'cause heard both.
