List of Crap #58 - Top Movies of the 1990s - The Countdown!
« on: April 10, 2012, 06:12:52 AM »
Welcome everyone, to List of Crap 58: Top Movies of the 1990s! I'll keep this brief (because I know everyone will probably skip this part) and just say thank you for the tremendous turn out in submitting your lists.  Also, fuck you for submitting so many lists, as collating that shit got super tedious after the fourth hour.  32 lists and 275 unique entries as quite a lot to contend with, and I just hope I haven't made any mistakes.

There were a few ties in the list, so to order them properly, the one with the most appearances on peoples' lists will be counted higher.  If the points and list totals are the same, instead of doing some fancy maths, I'm just going to call it a tie and they both (or all) share the same number.

I'll try and keep a regular update schedule, but I'm basically away from my computer completely for a few days over the next couple of weeks.

The supplemental lists will arrive somewhere in the middle of this list, as soon as I've decided how to format those.

So, without further ado...it begins!

The Mummy was a fun movie.  Still, 61 points?  I'm surprised that the two awful sequel didn't kill any remaining enthusiasm for this one.

Apparently Universal is looking to make a new Mummy movie presumably unrelated to the Brendan Fraiser film.

I'm pretty sure that if we chose not to give you a minute the results would be the same.  But I'll indulge.

Fair enough.

I loved The Mummy.  Perfect summer popcorn flick.  Haven't seen it in ages though.

So far so good. I watched The Mummy an absurd amount of times when I was younger (it was always on at a neighbor's house) and never really got tired of it (I also rather enjoyed the first sequel, come to think of it). Whatever it takes to get John Hannah the spotlight, although when it comes to Sommers' movies I always buddy up with Deep Rising in the end.

Also, obligatory:

It's a really good film though I wish it had been closer to the original book.

Hogarth's mum is foxy.

Wow.  I'm shocked that Iron Giant isn't higher.  I'm not a huge fan, but I recognize its significance in the animation renaissance.
