At first  I wasnt a big fan of the show....but it slowly grew on me like a benign tumor and now I absolutely love it

I for one cannot patiently wait for the new season....its a virtue I have learned to live without

Go team Venture!!!

no i want to stay here with my new friends and their feel good candy.

It is a crime that the opening "Everybody's Free" segment from "Powerless In The Face Of Death" isn't on YouTube. It's not the most hilarious thing ever, but it's just so beautifully staged. Dr Orpheus crying, the Monarch eating a butterfly, and quite possibly the best use of '90s club music ever.
I honestly cannot think of a more perfect season opening segment.  I feel silly posting that, but I'm sitting here trying to think of a show's return that I was more thrilled by, and I've got nothing that tops Dr. Venture trying to escape his life and Brock having to bring him back.  And the fact that

Someone with the means to do so really needs to post it to YouTube just on principle.

It and numerous full VB episodes used to be on youtube, but they all got pulled.  I found the opener on a non-youtube site a little while back, but even that's gone now.

For everyone that doesn't already know, Jackson Publick blogs about VB production on his livejournal.  It's got a lot of cool info and artwork.

http://www.adultswim.com has a BUNCH of Venture Brothers clips on their clip viewer and they rotate episodes out regularly. I believe "Helpless in the face of death" just happens to be in this week's batch of episodes, so if you haven't and you REALLY wanna see that famous opening, check it out. Stay for the rest while you're at it. :^)

When I first saw Venture Bros I was kinda...blah...to it for some reason.  Just didn't hit the right nerve.  About a year later a friend at work brought in the dvd to watch during break and I had nothing better to do, so I sat and watched the first episode.  Hooked ever since, how did I miss this show's brilliance for so long?

Don't worry, RF, I don't think you're alone.  It took me a while to love the show - at least half of the first season, but now it's my favourite cartoon currently still being produced.

Anybody know when Season 3 is starting?

I've read some people on a couple of forums who say it could be June 08...

Man, I love this show!
It combines the best elements of Jonny Quest, The Tick and all those lame cartoons I watched when I was a kid (Scooby Doo, Fantastic Four).
Season Three kicks off in June, and CN has started to run episodes again to build up excitement.

The creator, Chris McCulloch, worked for The Tick's Ben Edlund while Edlund was doing the Tick animated show.  << While I think the Tick was very funny, I HATED the animation of the show.  When I was doing some character design for WB animation, we would get Tick model sheets and just groan when we'd see the finished animation.  The designs were great but the animation was outsourced to a really weak  company.    I'm first to admit that some of the WB stuff was really bad too.

Venture Bros was originally written as a comic book series for Monkeysuit, but McCulloch realized it would work better as a cartoon, but he never thought it would get made or accepted.  I remember reading a xerox of a pitch for it back around  the time of Batman Beyond and thinking it was great but we all doubted anyone would do it without ridiculous censoring.  Adult Swim was a perfect place for it.
