The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning
« on: February 27, 2007, 04:31:01 PM »
Yes, I kid you not.  I have precious few details, as I came across the last 10 seconds or so of a commercial spot on ABC Family.  I was so shocked I failed to pay attention to the airdate of the pilot.  Anyone else as frightened as I am?

DoH is one of those shows that's great because it's gone, like Knight Rider or Magnum PI. We love REMEMBERING these shows. That doesn't mean we want 'em back.

OMG! I just went to IMDB, and it's even dumber than the last movie, if that's possible, stranger still, even though the pilot is being produced straight to DVD as well, the commercial was being run on the 'new' ABC Family. Let's see....

*Dangerous High Speed Chases......... Check!
*Running Moonshine........................ Check!
*Scantily Clad Young Women.............Check and Double Check!!
*Gratuitous Explosions......................Check!
*Country Singing Legend
  w/ Checkered Past.........................Check!
*Crossdresing..................................Check!

Yep, everything you expect from a 2 hour family friendly romp....
My mind is somewhat more at ease now that I realize that it's just a straight to DVD made for TV movie.  I had originally thought  erroneously that it was to be a new weekly TV series *shudders*

Brought to you by The 'New' ABC Family: "A new kind of family..."  Uh... Yeah....

It looks silly like the first movie, but dare I say it looks better.  Let me explain.

Daisy is hot.
Jesse being played by Willie Nelson again.
The casting of Hogg and the Sherrifs looks better.  Not saying much because it couldn't have been any worse in the last movie.

Daisy IS hot, but she's one of those girls that's freakishly skinny.  While watching that preview I was worried she would keal over at any point.

Bite your tongue, sir.

Personally, I'm still pissed that Enos didn't take off.

You're talking about the movie that was in theaters, right?  I only ask because I lost interest in even watching the trailers for that thing....
