I think an email blast would be the best way.  To be honest, there's so much other stuff to keep track of on FB, and I won't even touch Twitter, so an email blast would be the best way to let people know.  I just kind of assumed I'd be getting an email any day telling me when the tickets were going to go on sale.  Heck, you guys have no problem about emailing me when the latest rifftrax is available for purchase!!!   :) :) :)

Had I gotten that email, I would have known when to try and get tickets, instead of stumbling upon it three days too late.

And I agree, the Belcourt is really losing out.  I would think they could easily fill the theater at least once, if not twice more.

Oh well, here's to hoping (again) more tickets come available or someone has an extra they'd be willing to sell.

I mean geez, how much work does a guy have to do to see Rifftrax live?  I mean besides being able to get a ticket, driving 8 hours one way, getting a hotel, driving 8 hours back . . . .

I know I'm one of the last few holdouts, but I don't do facebook, twitter, myface, etc. Short of an email blast, an announcement and link on the website would be nice.

I'm kind of surprised twitter is still around.

I like Twitter mainly for jokes and rants I don't feel like sharing with Facebook. Particularly when the Red Sox are playing like crap. Then it's a combination of both.

This applies to me as well. I was thinking about finally breaking down and getting an account with one of these accursed social media sites(an example of my will to see Rifftrax Live, as stubborn as I am about this kind of thing) because it was mentioned that there is a possibility for more tickets to be sold at a later time, and that is presumably the only way I would get notification.

Initially, I was expecting a link in this thread or something mentioned on the front page.

I was/am willing to travel from Florida, if that means anything. I come from a town with about 15,000 and I just assumed that the Belcourt was this giant, opulent big-city cornucopia of seats, or something equally misguided and far more charming. That was my fault entirely, though, wouldn't blame the PR.

/pipedream Also, there are thousands of fans down here(the southeast) that would make the trip if there was an event within a few hundred miles of us. /pipedream

Fathom Events page is up with on sale date!

http://www.fathomevents.com/originals/event/rifftrax_manos.aspx?d=8/16/2012

No mention of any specials guests though.  Not yet anyway.  I think that was always speculation anyway, correct?  Nothing official was ever said about Alton Brown or anyone else for that matter?

Oh, so NOW I get an email about the tickets going on sale for the various theaters?  This is what I was hoping for with the Belcourt Theater tickets.  Oh well.  I guess I'll keep hoping more get released or I'll have to wait until next year.

I was hoping they'd offer complimentary Hooters waitresses to sit with us.

So if you can't see it in person, you won't see it at all? That seems unfair.

Why can't you? We haven't announced the list of theaters yet.
I work REALLY hard on the site. (Not the forum so much.) I'd love it if you bought me a beer via PayPal!

We both attempted to get our local theatre (that already does run Fathom events) interested, but didn't even get replies. :(

My response seems unfair?  I'm not quite sure what to make of that, or how to take that.  To be honest, for me, there's no difference between seeing it on the movie screen or seeing it on my tv at home when I buy it when it comes out.  So no, if I can't go see them live, I'm just going to wait and get the DVD when it comes out.

If we want to go the route of calling things unfair, I suppose I could say it's unfair to advertise via email all the VODs that are available to purchase, or getting an email saying when the tickets for the movie theaters are going on sale, but not getting one for the live show.  I also suppose I could say that it's unfair that they only do the live show in Tennessee rather than going to different cities like Cinematic Titanic, you know, so other people could get to see their favorite riffers live.  But I'm willing to make the trip from Chicago to Tennessee just to see them live, but now can't because I didn't find out the tickets went on sale until two days after the tickets were sold out.

So yes, I can totally see how I'm being "unfair."   ::)

This will be my first rifftrax live event. I can't go to the actual "Live" event as I am too far. Well not too far I suppose but far enough away to where I will be seeing it at a theater via Fathom. Anyway I know we get some codes for some goodies and all and I thought I saw in the FAQ about these as well. Do we also get to get a download of the live event riff as well after we go?

We don't get the main event for a download for free.  In the past the digital goodies have been some cool avatar jpgs based on the movie, and usually a studio version of one of the shorts they do.  RiffTrax can't sell the main event for a period of time after the theater presentation due to their agreement with Fathom.
