Worst opening day loss ever for the Phillies.

Just terrible on all levels.
Expectations were pretty low for this season already, but yikes....

Last year was feeling as bad as the badness of the late 90s, not sure what this year will be like, certainly nothing like anything I've seen since I started following them in the early 90s.

Well, as far as Detroit is concerned, I am happy with the start.  Guarded, and rightly so, considering their Spring Training performance, but they've shaken up a lot this year, and the new things seem to be working out.  Price with a near complete game, a healthy Iglesias and Davis stealing every chance they've got...the only thing weird right now is that Cabrera didn't hit squat.  But he has time...and time is the one thing this season has plenty of to sort everything out.  But I'm optimistic this year.

And go Royals, too.  They're already out of the gate ready to do battle, and I think they'll be fun to watch this year as well.

I guess my big villains this year (in terms of how baseball can really have 'villains') would be the usual suspects of the Yankees (can't help it) and Cleveland (the 'good' Central team I don't want to win), with added bonus the Nationals (for getting Max).  For the "Hope to do Wells" I have the D-Backs (I got family rooting for them out in Arizona) and the Cubs (because eh, why not?).

Phillies have a winning record for the first time since last May.  I better enjoy it while it lasts...  ;)

And the rookie Herrera gets his first major league hit as a walk off double in the 10th.

Dang.  Forgot Porcello got traded to Boston.  Now I can't shake my fist in rivalry at the Sox.  At least, on certain pitch days.

On the other hand, Shane Green looks almost like a dead ringer for Porcello and has pitched two 8-inning games with an ERA of 0.00.  That's pretty impressive.  Hope he keeps it up.

Wonder if this is the start of a long-standing Royals/White Sox rivalry.  But the Mets are turning out to be impressive this year.  11 game win streak ain't nothing to sneeze at.

Wow. Yesterdays Red Sox vs O's game got ugly FAST.

The Sox pitching staff is exactly what I figured they'd be.  Either fairly good or REALLY BAD & basically no way to predict it.  So far looking at match ups has been less successful than just flipping a coin to guess how they do.

All the little things I haven't liked about Sandberg as a coach just hit the breaking point.

Let's see, Bryce Harper is red hot, even more so with guys in scoring position, what to do when he come up with a guy in scoring position and the score tied, with a base open....  Hmmm....  Any little league coatch would have the brains to intentionally walk him, but what does Sandberg do??  He brings in a reliever to pitch to him, a reliever with a worse record against Harper than the guy that was on the mound......   And surprise, surprise he gets a hit.  And then leave the same guy in for Zimmerman even though he his hitting lefties like crazy, so he gets a hit also.....  Has to be the most stupid management of a game I've seen in quite a few years....

And he sat Ryan Howard today because a lefty was pitching, when Ryan is on a hitting streak you don't sit him!  He's healthy this year, no need to sit him like last year...

Worst road trip for the Phillies since 1883.....

How do Amaro and Sandberg still have jobs?

We'll see what all the changes made so far lead to for the Phillies, hopefully at least a few more changes will happen in the off season.

Things literally can't get any worse, we can't win a series at home against the Brewers...  :'(

2 walks shy of a perfect game for Cole today, a bright spot in an otherwise dismal season.
