Heard on the radio yesturday that ESPN is reporting that MLB is "chattering" about potential lifetime bans for Ryan Braun and A-Rod.  That would be a HUGE step and I'm pretty sure the players union would have something to say about that.

ESPN has given up reporting only facts and they make stuff up these days.  Best to just ignore all their fake "news"

Let the fun begin!

Quote
Ryan Braun has been suspended without pay for the remainder of the season for violating MLB's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.
The first big shoe to drop in the Biogenesis investigation, Braun has agreed to accept the suspension and will not appeal. "I realize now that I have made some mistakes," said Braun. "I am willing to accept the consequences of those actions." That Braun didn't appeal doesn't exactly bode well for some of the other players involved, though this is a lost year for the Brewers. Braun will end up missing 65 games and is projected to lose around $3.4 million in salary.

Quote
ESPN's T.J. Quinn reports that the evidence Biogenesis clinic founder Tony Bosch gave Major League Baseball about Alex Rodriguez is "far beyond" what he gave them about Ryan Braun.
Braun accepted a 65-game suspension Monday, so A-Rod is surely to get at least that much. Of course, we don't know at this point if the third baseman would plan to appeal the suspension. Rodriguez had been slated to return from the DL Monday but recently had a setback during his rehab assignment with a strained quad.

A-Rod also refused to answer questions when he was interviewed during the investigation which will probably not help his case any.

65 is a lot less than I thought he was going to get.  I figured at least the even 100.  I bet he's cooperating(snitching) on others he knows about.

Caught this on MLB network out of the corner of my eye... Did A-Rod seriously go to get a second opinion on his injury w/o the Yanks ok (which violates CBA)?

And the dr already had ties to PEDs and was or is under investigation by MLB?

I'm torn because I want it to be true, because A-Rod. But I also want the Yanks to not be able to void his contract because of the PEDs or debilitating injury so their team will suck for a few years.

These last 2 games against the Cardinals have been seriously depressing.  Just shows how bad off the Phillies really are now.

Ortiz went nuts on a dugout phone in Baltimore last night.

But don't worry guys, Jonny Gomes & Ryan Dempster fixed it.

Not sad for me!

Baseball seasons are long and run in "we have hope" stretches......so all will be good soon

Ah, 2 weeks ago when the Phillies had only been massivly outplayed a few times, now it's something like 14 out of the last 16 lost....

No deals at all at the trade deadline, just shows this is a "tossing in the towel" season.

And now the only guy in our bullpen that has been pitching OK get's a 50 game suspension.

Going to the game tonight with my boss, pretty good seats near first base, so that's something.   I'm guessing it will not be a huge crowd, 2 loosing teams playing.  He's a Cubs fan BTW.

I want this to be true. I will inject Performance Enhancing Drugs and win a bunch of stuff I don't deserve and get endorsement deals and stuff JUST to make this come true.

Wait...
Anais is the Coolest Butterfly I know  ;D

I was wearing my Ruiz T-shirt at the game and he hit a home run, cool, and I can't remember the last time he hit one, pretty sure it's been a long time.

Good thing he got us up by 4 because Pappelblown gave up 3 runs in the 9th.

Pretty good crowd for a Tuesday night game between 2 loosing teams, and the seats were pretty good, the view:

Not a bad panorama for hand held over my head...

And you wonder how many people got bonked on the head before they put those screens behind home plate up.

The NHL had bad things before they learned.
