Cubs doing their best to try and give me a heart attack. Truthfully, with all of their injuries and the Addison Russell domestic violence suspension and Hammels reverting to pre-trade form, I don't expect them to make the series this year. But their only chance is really to win the division and rest their 2 decent starting pitchers for the first playoff series and they're doing about everything they can to blow the division and end up in the wild card. Still have a half game lead, but only 4 games to go now.

Cubs have a 1 game lead with 2 games to go and I'm sill not feeling confident they'll win the division.
Feeling the worst case scenario may happen-a tie with the Brewers for the division, then them losing the tie breaker game going into the wild card...which would be worse then just losing the division and being a wild card.

Even during the terrible losing years in the late 90s I don't remember a Phillies team falling apart this badly.

7 weeks ago they were still in contention, had a good record well above 500, now there's a good chance they lose the last 2 games and end the season with an 11 game losing streak and a record well under 500.

I suspect our "everything is always great" manager doesn't have the skills to motivate players when they are doing poorly.  The stick with the system and it will be good in the long run didn't work out so well there dude...

Tigers blew a lead and now the Cubs and Brewers are tied going into the final day. Rockies and Dodgers tied as well.

Cubs/Brewers in Chicago @noon Monday for the division championship.
Dodgers/Rockies in LA @ 3:30 for the West.
Losers play the wild card on Tuesday (@ Milwaukee or Chicago).

Thank f'ing God that the Brewers didn't make it to the World Series. Nothing pisses me off more than fairweather fans. Living in Brewers country, it's been more amazing to me than usual the number of people who have come out of the woodwork this year claiming to be diehard Brewers fans who don't know shit about baseball.

Took what 3, 4 innings for Harper to get booed. Phillies fans are really ridiculous at times.
So happy it's baseball season again. Cubs didn't do much in the offseason, but if Bryant and Darvish are healthy unlike last year and if Hamels plays a full season like he did his second half last year, then the Cubs fate might come down to the bullpen.

That was not a real Philly boo.

He hit a hell of a home run today, into the 2nd deck.

J.T. Realmuto got his Silver Slugger award before today's game and he hit one out.

Franco was upset about batting 8th but with the pressure off he has 2 home runs in the first 2 games.
Our 5-8 guys are basically what we had 1-4 last year.

Best 2 games to start the season pretty much since the team began in 1883...

Still far too early to judge, but Darvish looking terrible in first game...likely won't make it past 4 innings...Cubs still in a good position to win though up 4 to 1 in the top of the third.

Yeah, Darvish pulled after 2 2/3s. One bad game doesn't mean much, but after his last year I'm already starting to worry.

What a difference a year makes, at this time last year after all the blunders Gabe made in the opening series people were wondering if he would be fired before mid season.  The infamous call to the bullpen when no one had warmed up yet...  Turn to this year and the Phillies are the only undefeated team in all of baseball.  Tuesday night they are up against Scherzer so staying undefeated is going to be rough.
