Probably not to likely of that happening.  It would be more likely for them to do a live show that get the rights to sell VoDs.

I was bieng threated with death by wolf raping before it was cool!.

If they did a live show of the original Transformers movie, I'd be the first in line. I love the movie but I would love an affectionate riffing of it even more. All it can do is draw attention back to classic Transformers.

If they want to do something different, they should riff the 1986 animated Transformers movie. I think that'd have good sales.
Only thing is that movie is pretty rare,
Is it?

EDIT: Just checked Amazon. Yeah, it seems to be out of print. I wonder if they are planning a BluRay release soon?

I guess if they're going to go the anniversary route they could plan a Blu ray release for 2016.

Well, I for one think it's a shoe-in for a Best Picture Nod.

I'm sure pretty much every movie that's big enough does that.  Also, I think Jazz's hair was Oscar worthy.  Thanks, Yolanda!

I can see it in the Transformers 5 promos:

"Directed by Academy Award entrant Michael Bay"

I think we already lost faith in the academy awards a long time ago but now I think less of them than ever.

You realize that the academy takes no responsibility for whoever asks to be considered, don't you?

If Crash and Forrest Gump can win it's at least worth a try.

The only way Michael Bay is going to get an Oscar is for him to steal it from a temple, like Weird Al in UHF.

Filmschoolrejects did an article recently about this. In short, sure, it's going to get laughed out of any sort of Picture, Director, or Acting awards, but they really don't care, because it's still going to clean house with the technical stuff (nominations if not outright wins). The Academy tends to treat the word Best like it means Most, so a movie that's just a general all-out assault to the eyes and ears is going to go far in those respective categories. And at the end of the day, an Oscar is an Oscar is an Oscar, no matter the category.

I don't really mind these movies winning special effects awards, since that's really an entirely different department from Bay. Putting aside the waaaay too complicated designs, the CGI was very well done and they actually felt there in the scene.

My Bay/Shyamalan rule:  if no riff exists, watch something else.  I doubt I'll ever see this movie.
