I know exactly what you mean, from the 'party' scene onwards the smile on my face just got wider and wider.

It was merely okay.  Not quite the gamechanger I was led to believe it was.

Plus I can't stand this guy.  Hated him on Dollhouse.  Hated him in this movie.

For me, he represents all the worst of Joss Whedon's bad habits.

I actually agree on the game changer bit, since game changer implies that other films from here on out will be finding a way to emulate or make cheap rip-offs of this, a la Scream and its followers. This is just really, really good.

That said, I don't understand the Marty hate, he was the best character in the film.

I didn't laugh once at the funny guy.  Just found him to be gratingly unfunny.

Felt similar things. Not a bad movie, but I think its concept ruined half the movie for me.

That's too bad.  I thought you would like it.

I do like it.  I'd watch it again.  I just didn't think it was as good as the internet made it out to be.

Same reaction to Tucker & Dale Versus Evil.  That was a good movie but it could have been so much better.

I've watched it three times and loved it all three.   And I am a stern horror and comedy guy.
